Ballard Kiss Cafe is a cute cafe near the Locks with fare that focus on sandwiches and a variety of beer. While kind, our waitress lacked beer knowledge, prompting an arrival at the bar. When I asked the bartender what beers they had, he responded, “The ones in the fridge,” which elicited an eye-roll. However, things quickly turned around after I specified that I was looking for a stout, which the bartender promptly supplied. The sandwiches were absolutely delicious. My partner and I had the Chipotle Roast Beef and the Half Sandwich Combo with jambalaya, both excellent offerings. The roast beef is tender and juicy, while the chipotle sauce provides a nice kick. Unfortunately, the tomato basil soup is far too innovative to be called tomato basil soup. Their use of coconut milk made it taste like a curry that needed to be more delectable offering. Other than that, the crack pretzel was an ABSOLUTE standout. I’d come just for a pretzel and a beer. Overall, this cute sidewalk restaurant is dog-friendly, with delicious sandwiches but so-so service.

Ordered the Hot and Spicy sandwich and it was fantastic! Some sandwich places have vegetarian options that are either lacking in flavor or aren’t very filling, but this sandwich was loaded (literally but also in terms of flavor). Atmosphere and service were good. A really nice stop for a casual meal and a beer or two!

Fabulously dog friendly. Good service people. Sadly a super small kitchen. So you may wait longer than expected for your sandwiches. Patience goes a long way here. They still get a lot of to-go orders that can delay in person orders.

I was very impressed that the toddler only sandwich (that’s how it’s named on the menu!) comes with real normally cuted fruits not like “fruit salad” from can like in other places with kids menu options.

Overall recommend. I almost don’t want to put a review on here because I think it’s a hidden gem. I tried to dine alone at two other places but waits were too long so pulled over and came in. When I first went in there it seemed slightly understaffed but everything after went smooth sailing once I was told to pick a seat. Whoever picked their house cab did a great job. The portion of jambalaya was very big for me, but I managed to eat every bite as it’s hard to find this in the city and it was overall pretty tasty (not spicy though). I was in a pretty bad mood that day and came in starving, but server let me take my time eating and let me read after — he super attentive & I never felt rushed. Will be back, intentionally! Thank you!

Great sandwiches!!!!! This is a place that I would go out of my way to eat here if I’m in the mood for a sandwich, because they make them right! Customer service is awesome too. I asked for a pickle (mine didn’t come w one for some reason), and the server came back with a plate of pickles!! So nice!! Good beer, cider, hard kombucha selection too.

An old fave, and for wonderful reasons! Including, but not limited to, bringing my doggo! They love dogs. Enjoy selecting beer & cider from their cooler full of amazing brews, and make sure you get the Crack Pretzel…

Delicious selection of sandwiches and wraps! I was also impressed with their selection of hard ciders. The service is top notch, and the outdoor seating is perfect for a light lunch on a sunny day.

You want a great sandwich? Look no further…complemented with a small “cellar” of dill pickles and a pitcher of water with slices of cucumbers, prepare for a treat. Over 200 beers to choose from…friendly and accommodating staff compliment everything great about this place. You might say its a bit “cozy”, but it seems to add a “home like” feel you just don’t get in other places. On my way there now….
