We didn’t try the Peking duck so I can’t comment about that but the ones we tried were amazing. I think this place really strikes a perfect balance between good food, ambience and service. We ordered the CS10. Stewed Thin Beef Slices with Sauerkraut and CS17. Bell Pepper, Egg Plant, Potato Stir Fry. I’ll highly recommend the stewed beef slices with sauerkraut! It was perfect sour and tangy and the portions are massive, you will absolutely have leftovers to carry back home. The veggies like lotus root, black fungus and tofu were perfectly cooked and crispy and it paired perfectly with rice. Special shout out to the container for the soup! It is a well designed carry out pot and they will cover it for you to take home, I thought it was genius!

One of the best China restaurant in Austin. The food and experience was awesome. Very friendly staff and the lady really helped us to make our order better. Jalapeno Pepper Beef is simply awesome. The Beef just melts in the mouth, highly recommend. Basil Eggplant was another item that we all loved. The Pecking Duck was really good and it comes with a large bowl of tasty soup. Spicy and Crispy chicken was okay. Boiled Fish Fillets in Chili Sauce was also okay. All the portions were big. We ordered these 5 items for 7 people and we ended up asking couple of to-go boxes.

It was my first time here. Ordered the “famous” Peking Duck, thin sliced beef in sauerkraut broth and green beans with ground pork. I’ll give a 4 for the beef and the green beans, though the latter could have used a little more cooking time. About the duck, first of all it wasn’t even warm when served, then the duck itself….the skin, chewy and poorly prepared in a light brown color instead of a dark red, was so thin, it was less than 1 mm, usually a good quality duck skin should have a crispy skin with a thickness of not less than 3mm, forgive my bluntness since I have eaten Peking Duck in Beijing for at least a few dozen times so I know what a good duck looks and tastes like. The taste was bland, the sauce was okay but they may need to stir fry it before serving.

Came to Bamboo House on a Friday night for dinner with my partner. When we went, there were a lot of people waiting for a table. We talked to the hostess by the table and got a ticket. When your table is up, the number on the screen above will show it and it will also make a noise to notify everyone when new numbers are up. We waited around 20 min for a table. We ordered the crispy and spicy chicken, the pork belly with preserved vegetables, and the half Peking duck. We got free soup for ordering the duck I believe, it was very delicious. The crispy and spicy chicken was my partners favorite, perfectly fried and spicy with that Szechuan pepper. The pork belly with preserved vegetables was good. The entrees were a decent size for its price and came with white rice for the table. We had to wait a little longer for the Peking duck after our entrees came out which is fine because we read that other reviewers mentioned the same and it everyone is ordering Peking duck. The Peking duck was so crispy and perfectly salty. It came with brown sugar, duck sauce, Peking duck sauce, and the garnishes. My partner said it was one of the best Peking duck he had compared to other places and half a duck is only $30. The restaurant is quite busy and they are short staff, the tables, and servicing water can be a little better but we understand since they were super busy. I would definitely come here again and recommended my friends to come try this place. Even if you do not like Peking duck, their entrees are so delicious. For two entrees and half a duck, our bill totaled 69$ which is really not bad. Come check this place out.

This is literally the best Beijing roast duck in the area with a reasonable price. However, the wait was too long, and we had to wait for another 40 mins for the duck.(one point down for the wait). I guess it was worthy because it was freshly made. The 夫妻肺片was very tasty too.

Coming from Houston I have found very few places that service authentic peking duck. So glad to have found a gem in Bamboo House. Their Peking duck is worth the wait and served with the authentic tortilla and condiments. The side dishes we ordered were HUGE and delicious as well. The only downside is the long wait but it’s worth it. There is parking available outside (2 hour limit), and free 2 hour parking in the garage.

Came here for the DUCK, I’d say there’s no other place has more authentic Peking duck than here in ATX. Last time we’re here was not as crowded as during soft opening period. Other dishes were okay, big portions and plenty flavors, could be better if chef can hold off on that msg level.

Visiting from out of town and went for dinner on a Friday evening, didn’t have to wait too long for a table. Duck and duck soup were pretty good, but also the salt & pepper fish and Mongolian beef were quite tasty also. Portions are generous and good service. Definitely recommended.
