I cannot express how awful our food was there. My husband spent 40.00 on take out that we couldn’t even eat. Tonite my husband has been in the bathroom all night sick from eating beef and broccoli. The food was bad. I got sweet and sour pork and the meat was mushy. It was dyed so red made me think i was eating bloody meat. The egg rolls smelled bad so we didn’t eat them “thank God”. Even the fortune cookies were stale. NEVER again will we ever get food there.

High quality food, outside looks unassuming but you get a large portion for a low price. Owner is very friendly, she has a garden and I think some of veggie side dishes are home grown. Amazing secret spot! Great Korean food!!

Don’t judge this place from the outside. The inside is also dated; but clean. The food is fantastic. At least the Korean portion of the menu. The hot and spicy soup was loaded with filling. The beef bulgogi was really good with a nice subtle sweet flavor. The bibimap was good although it did not come in a hot bowl, at least that’s the way I remember it being served in Korea. Just like Korea; free kimchi and vegetables as a side if you order off the Korean menu. Pleasantly surprised and will definitely return.

Wow! My mind has literally been blown! This was amazing. Ordered spicy soup and it was without question one of the very best Korean style beef soups I have ever had. This place is a must for anyone wanting super quality and amazing tasting food. Great prices and just all around amazing experience. Saving Charlottesville food scene is the bamboo house restaurant. Good food, good portions, but sometimes hard to get through to on the phone. Its just a small old wife and husband business, so sometimes the orders are slow and/or they don’t pick up because they are in the the kitchen. Food is always fresh tasting and good portions and easily the best Korean in Charlottesville. Probably also the best south of NoVA!

Delicious take out. We ordered japchae, bibimbop, seafood pancake, and veggie dumplings. They gave us some additional sides and sauces, and it was all fantastic. We ended up with so much food! Easy take out and super nice owners.
