I picked up halibut fish and chips to go. The “Fish” part looked like five big hush puppies, they actually looked quite delicious! Until I bit into them and realized that more than half of what was contained in these balls was heavy, bready batter. Each of these hush puppy balls was about four bites worth, three of which were the heavy batter, one of which was fish. Had I been sitting in the restaurant when these were served to me, I would’ve returned them immediately. Unfortunately I did not discover it until I was back to RV park and it was too late. The small amount of fish contained in the balls was very good, for what it’s worth. But truly, the worst fish and chips I have had in Alaska. Super disappointing.

I’ve been here twice, the fish and chips are definitely top notch, the big portion is a lot and difficult to finish. The second time I tried a burger, it was not so great. Also cocktails were just okay. If you’re into fish and chips, a nice place to visit when you’re in Haines

Cruse ship was at the harbor, so it was full, and the menu was limited. The fish and chips were good but not the best we have had. I would still recommend this food as the place was open on Sunday as the competition was closed. And we went the next day to the offer location, and we were told that they were no longer serving since they were 2 hours behind.

Stopped in today for some hangover food and hair of the dog. I had the soup of the day which was a really good and hearty beef stew I believe. I also had the deep fried pickles, a bloody Mary and a Caesar. It was early in the day and was quiet. Our server (can’t remember name at the moment) was super sweet and a pleasure to interact with.

Personally, I like to taste my halibut. I found the fried halibut to be overly breaded and the fish a bit dry. The fries were all soggy and limp. Unfortunately, McDonald’s does better fries. I will not be back.

Not an expert on Halibut fish & chips, but mine was absolutely delicious. I could have hung out there all day eating that. Cold beer, good slaw, crispy fries and juicy, tender but meaty fish that was mild and fresh tasting. The batter was crispy and not at all greasy. Scrumptious!!!

Had the best time here this past Saturday. Stopped in for a beer and an appetizer and Lauren my server was fantastic. Very pleasant, accommodating and funny. I’m not from Haines so to be made to feel so welcome and at home there was most appreciated.

It’s clear that this is a locals restaurant and rightly so. The food ys good with generous servings. Wait staff are wonderful and very accommodating. I ate here for lunch one day and breakfast the next and both experiences were fantastic!

What a gem this place is. The food is fantastic. We stayed in haines for a night and made it a point to come here for a 2nd time before we continued on our trip. The famous halibut fish and chips were absolutely delicious! I craved those for a few days after we left. Service was very friendly too. Check this place out!
