My hunt for banh mi in Chinatown continues because this place is not it. Got the special ($9.25 net) and #3 ($7.50 net) on a quiet late Saturday. The bread was a baguette and crisp on the outside but too dense on the inside. The cold cuts and pate was ok but a bit bland. The pate was good. There was sufficient pickles veg (daikon, carrots, cucumber) but hardly any cilantro (see photo). The sandwich was dry. I’m glad I tried this place but it just confirms why my favorite banh mi place is my favorite (UWS).

I do not recommend their special banh mi. they are pretty cheap on the meat and cilantro and load it up with daikon which overpowers the flavor of everything else. All i tasted was sour daikon even after removing it. You can judge for yourself from the pictures.

Not the best banh mi in the world, but for the price you can’t complain! Nice owners, and it’s tough finding traditional divey Vietnamese spots like this.

I have no clue what these people are talking about in the ratings … this spot is better than Saigon and all the others. It’s the home made bread …everyone else uses ny hero bread…that bread they have is crispy and light and perfect. I will admit their sandwich is a bit slimmer than the others but I don’t care. The sandwich is $8, if I’m still hungry I get another. Maybe I’m just ignorant and never been to Vietnam but that thing is perfect.

Got the shredded chicken banh mi ga and have to say it’s one of the best banh mi’s I’ve ever had. One of the more memorable items I ate during my trip to NYC. The bread was so fresh and crusty. Wouldn’t say that it’s jam packed with filling but the filling to bread portioning was balanced. Would absolutely return to try their other items.

Undoubtedly my absolute favorite banh mi spot! First off, the sandwiches are so affordable in this current market. Where else could you get quality sandwiches for ~$7? And even then, they may not look like it’s stuffed to the brim, but they pack in an insane amount of flavor that surpasses those spots that stuff 20 things into one sandwich, especially their #4 with the pate. Would definitely recommend their #4!

Pretty good bánh mì with lots of meat. I think it could be a little saltier, adding more soy sauce, meat sauce or something along the line. They also sell other vietnamese food, mainly snacks. It’s for take out only and they only take cash.

I had a craving for Vietnamese sandwiches for a few weeks and finally found a tiny spot in Manhattan Chinatown that I wanted to try. I ordered the #3 sandwich and a pandan layered cake to go. They both were very satisfying! I ate the entire sandwich even though I was thinking to add some hot sauce over it but it was already delicious. So I didn’t make that move. Go give this small gem a try!

Delicious bahn mih for $7.5 or more. The bread is always fresh and crunchy, with a good balance of meats and pickled vegetables inside. Several options, including some that are friendlier to the western palate (like the #6 with pork shoulder and egg).

Lady behind the counter is very friendly and welcoming. I love banh mi and really wanted to love my banh mi ga (chicken) but I was disappointed. The chicken tasted dry and stale. I’d go back and try their pork fillings to see if it’s just the chicken that’s subpar. The other components of the sandwich were well balanced.
