Service was slow, food was meh and the meat was a bit tough. Their sauce is too watery and some what bitter. But hey everyone has a different pallet so maybe it was not their best day.

Food was plentiful and good. The only exception was the collard greens. They were fresh but I didn’t find them tasty. The cornbread, Mac and cheese, and beef brisket were excellent. My friend got barbecue ribs. The ribs were meeting and more than she can eat in one setting. The owners cordial. The atmosphere is very informal. No alcohol. But the sweet tea was outstanding. For dessert we got the peach cobbler and the sweet potato pie. Both were excellent.

The food tastes as good as the smoke smells as you cruise by. Where to begin. I got the sampler platter, which I think when you try a new spot is the best way to go when trying BBQ. The pulled pork had an awesome smoke ring , flavor and was moist. Not typical in south Florida. The brisket was the same. The ribs were very tender and not fatty. All meets had their own distinct flavor and were not over seasoned. The collards greens are some of the best and when you taste them you know it is his own recipe. I also got the fries and loved the crispness and flavor. The corn bread is a sweet treat and very moist. Another plus are the fountain drinks. He makes them and they are very clean. The diet didn’t have that aftertaste and was refreshing. I will be hitting Jacks up again.

I have been going to this restaurant for years. Went there recently and the food was much different than I am used to. It seemed old and as if it sat on the counter for the day. Usually, the food is delicious and fresh. This last visit the food was not fresh and it was not good. I’m not sure if they got new management but, judging from the other recent reviews, it seems as though their food is not living up to their reputation. I will give it another try next time I’m down in the Fort Lauderdale area. Hopefully will be better next time.

This place was, in a word, mediocre. The meat was pretty good, which as far as barbecue places go, is solid.

I read a lot of the bad reviews and thought I should comment. I’ve eaten at Jacks for several months now, and have had only good experiences. To me, the BBQ is good, especially for the price. The staff has always been friendly. When we’re feeling lazy, my partner and I usually go to Jack’s to pick up a quick dinner. I can only comment on the BBQ chicken combo though since that’s all we ever order. The chicken is cooked perfectly, although I wish their BBQ sauce was a little thicker. Everybody has their own preferences though. With the sides, I love their coleslaw and always order it. I also love their baked beans. I read that someone thought it was too sweet, but I thought it was just fine.

I have been eating at Jack’s for years and Saturday night I have to say I was truly disappointed with my take out order.

The food was delicious but the portion was small. I ordered a sampler with fries. The fries were delicious and the meat fell off the bone. The staff was a bit rude but I guess that she was just tired after a long day of work. The place needed a bit of cleaning. Tip: For people who don’t eat certain items they need a separate cutting board because my friend and I were sharing the sampler and she doesn’t eat pork so it was a bit inconvince. But otherwise, it was okay. I will probably go back.

Stopped here a couple of months ago and it was good. Stopped again y2 days ago 1-18-18 around 1:00 PM and was very disappointed. My pork sandwich had very little pork on it and part of it was chunks of fat. Also I like the sweet BBQ sauce that comes on the sandwich but it wasn’t on the counter just North Carolina and Spicy. I asked and the guy making the food some sweet sauce and he snapped at me yea we have it buts its .50 cents extra if you want any more than what came on the sandwich. The BBQ beans were like right out of a can too. I don’t know if it was just a bad day there or what but I won’t be going back.
