We went there for the Happy Hour. Good choice for drinks and tacos. We ended up ordering other items in the main menu. The drinks are strong. The oysters are awesome. The chili shallot malonette has a strong kick but it’s awesome. The fish tacos taste really good. The popcorn chickens are one of the best. Overall, a very satisfying culinary experience.

Tried this place to the curious similarities to another restaurant I love. The chips and salsa are fresh, flavorful while not being too spicy. The popcorn chicken was an experience; it was too sweet on its own while the mango habanero salsa was too spicy but when combined together the flavor fireworks start popping and it’s amazing. The enchiladas were some of the best I’ve ever had being super moist, tender, and just delicious. The shrimp tacos are huge, crispy, and absolutely scrumptious. In speaking with the manager I was pleased to hear the my suspicions were correct; Bar César is related to César and lives up to the name.

Everything seemed to go fine: We ate good food and had some nice drinks, tipped more than 20% cash, only had a party of 2 seated at the bar… then they charged us for a $4 tip on top of that which we never approved nor wrote onto the tab in any respect though we did not run up a larger tab or request extra services of any kind. That is scammy and just low, we won’t let them touch one of our cards again if we ever go back. I have been a waitress/bartender for twenty years and generally am highly forgiving and easy going but this was disgustingly unethical.

Nice place on Piedmont, big windows right on the sodewalk, good for people watching. Food was good but waited a while for someone to take my order. After we were served they really didn’t check back in much. They also overcharged my friends credit card. The cocktails were great though.

I love their carnitas. Trend at other places is to under season and seemingly undercooked their carnitas, but bar cesar are wonderfully crunchy and roasted. Great Brussels sprouts too. Nice folks.

Excellent carnitas tacos for lunch. My friend suggested meeting there for lunch, and it was well worth it. They weren’t that busy, so it was the perfect place for conversation. The appetizer was a chunky, well-balanced guacamole served with what I think were homemade chips. Both were quite fresh and tasty. I ordered the carnitas tacos, and service was quick. The meat was beautifully flavored and incredibly tender, just melting in my mouth, served on street corn tortillas. This came with a side salad of fresh greens and tomatoes. Very tasty.
