The wife and I went there for the first time tonight. The staff was awesome we met four different staff members tonight and that was even before we got our meal. The waiter was great and knowledgeable and even the chef came over to say hello. The food was excellent get the spare ribs and the scallops fantastic everything great. We’ll be back. Cheers!

Hubby proposed here. I thought I set up the perfect birthday dinner from him and was surprisingly proposed too. The owner went out of their way to make the proposal flawless for my fiancé who contacted him. From the menus, to the beautiful ambiance, and their local food picks. Everything was astonishing. Thank you for a memory that I will never forget!!!

Almost an hour went by before we were able to order dinner and had to ask for bread since we sat with drinks only during that time. Slow service after that continued. Food was average to good at best yet prices were very high. The average dinner was about $30 and didn’t even come with a side salad. Portions of food OK but small/expensive drinks! Won’t return.

The cuisine served at Bar Dumaine is inspirational; you’ll come away with new flavor pairings and techniques to incorporate into your own kitchen. There’s not a single bad dish on the menu, but my favorites are the oysters, the mussels, and the pomme frites. Highly recommended!

The tables are entirely too close together, we could literally hear everything the couple next to us was saying. The flavor of the food was good…however the portions in relation to the price was horrible!!! Service was slow and not knowledgeable about the menu. Will NOT be going back!!

I’ve had several great meals here in the past, but when I went back on a recent Saturday night, the lack of hospitality, food knowledge or enthusiasm from the staff truly saddened me. I was greeted by an inexperienced young woman who sat me in a cramped seat in the corner wall of the banquette, even though the restaurant was 2/3 empty. When I asked if I could please move over one seat to the next table to be more comfortable, she seemed startled, and then left me to go ask someone for permission. She clearly had little experience or training, her uneasiness was obvious. My tired-looking waiter took a long time to show up and seemed lethargic. He couldn’t answer questions about the menu or recommend any of his favorites, because he ‘doesn’t eat the foods’ there. When I asked questions, he read item descriptions from a card. He forgot to tell me about the evening’s specials, which I discovered after a party was seated nearby & I heard their waitress volunteer them. She also read all food descriptions from a card. After a moderate wait, a friendly, smiling food runner brought me a breathtaking dinner plate and I exclaimed: “Wow—is this as amazing as it looks!?” “I don’t know, we don’t eat it,” he answered. I was stunned, and asked “Don’t you get tastes of the foods as part of your training?” and he said, “No, but I wish we did!” still grinning. This explained a lot to me about the atmosphere—if the service staff in a pricey, food-forward restaurant doesn’t have food knowledge, tastes of signature dishes, or hospitality training, then they have no personal relationship with the food or the customers who show up. So, they can’t offer qualified help, they can only “read their cards” and take orders. And that’s exactly what Rue Domaine felt like on this night. Overall, there appeared to be no one managing the front of the restaurant, only the kitchen. I was so sad when I left, that this excellent chef has such untrained & discouraged servers who cannot “sell” the food or add to customer’ experiences with knowledge & enthusiasm. I also observed that I came, spent a lot of money, ate a meal and left without anyone asking how it was or inviting me to come back again.

Nice place yet very expensive small plates. ..burger can run you 11 bucks no sides included..all sides ala carte.menu very limited.im sure the “chef” is good but in changing to a more casual bar atmosphere the menu could of expanded with bar bites with her twist..

Incredible French Cuisine! And great service too. If you want to do fancy eating, this seems to be the place in Miamisburg.
