Bar Primi is a nice casual Italian spot that gets the job done when you’re craving some pastas. The ambiance both inside and outside are perfect – lots of low light, moody decor, and great vibes from the bar.

Service was great, the lobster squid ink pasta was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. The wine was also a really good pairing recommendation.

Came here on a Friday night as i had walked past this spot a million times. Good service and location, sceney spot but average food. Nothing in particular to write home about as a foodie. Pasta sauce was a bit on the salty side. Octopus was okay. Zucchini fries were alright too – they’re more like fried pickles thickness rather than usual thin zucchini fries. Also got branzino which was the top dish out of what we ordered. Wouldn’t rush to eat here for the food, but the service and ambiance make up for it

A fine Italian restaurant on the lower east side with excellent food and service. The decor and ambiance is also very pleasant. The wine selection is impressive just like the desserts.

I would actually rate Bar Primi a 3.5. I thought the food was good, but the overall experience ok. It was a Friday night and the restaurant was quite busy and the service reflected that. The restaurant can be quite loud when full and you should be prepared for that.

Food was good but didn’t blow my mind with all the other NYC pasta you can get it’s hard to really be extremely special. But the ambiance was nice. Service was nice enough not very attentive.

Great meal upstairs. Food was delicious and wine was excellent. They left us alone, but they did bring the birthday cake, which was a tiramisu cake!

Bar Primi was a random find that turned out to be an amazing experience. Everything from their service to their appetizers to their drinks to their desserts to their entrees were an absolute pleasure to eat. They came in big portions to feel stuffed, and in variations/sauces/ingredients that you typically won’t find at your local Italian spot. They have a sleek interior, but a sizeable outdoor patio too so if you can get there before it gets cold, I would recommend it. All in all, Bar Primi was a fantastic experience and I would recommend it to anyone who is in the area/looking for something new and refreshing.

We had an all-around fine experience at Bar Primi. We asked about availability for walk-ins for party of 5 at 8:30 on a Friday night, recognizing this can be difficult. (I know what you’re thinking – first mistake, right?) But, they told us they’d have a table both indoors or outdoors at 9:15, so we went for it. We started with bevs at the bar. By the time 9:15 rolled around, we’d landed seats at the bar and were ready to dine there because our table was looking like 9:30. But as soon as we started to get situated, they told us our table was ready and got us seated at 9:20. We were ready to order immediately. However – we weren’t asked for our food order until 9:35/9:40. We received food around 10. We went upstairs for the bathroom at one point while hanging out at the bar and there were tons of empty tables which made us wonder why the wait? Having worked in a smaller-capacity 4-star restaurant before, I understand the need to not overload the kitchen, so pacing things out in that regard makes sense, but it didn’t make sense not to get us seated sooner when the availability was/seemed there. The food was good but wasn’t worth the wait. I’ve been to BP before and the food was better so maybe it was just because we were so hungry.
