Bare Bones is an easy place to find, right on 36. You can order as you come in and choose your seat. Food is served promptly. The staff go above and beyond to ensure you have everything you want. The sweet potato fries were thin and crispy, the brisket salad humongous, and the patty melt on rye was toasted to buttery perfection. There was live music (Two step Tuesdays) with an ample dance floor of polished concrete. It was a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

We were dropping something off for my son at drill this weekend and found this little gem. My wife and I shared the three meat platter with a cobbler and had plenty on the plate. Our 12 year old and 10 year old picky eater were both happy with theirs as well. I tried the brisket, chicken, and turkey and no dry meat to be found the brisket was melt in the mouth. Bring on Black’s brisket out of Austin, I think you have a competition. We found out they do live music, maybe next time we will plan it out to go. Staying on Lake Belton camping? It is just a few short minutes from Cedar Ridge, so you may want to try it out.

Great warming feeling, food was great! Don’t come close to closing or they run out of somethings. They ran out of Mac and cheese but my wife got some and it was good. I had the brisket and it was good with the home made sausage. I will definitely come back. Oh and the potatoe salad is a must have.

Food was great. Had ribs, brisket and sausage. All very good. You must try the fried green beans. Very good. Also pinto beans good too. A lot of food at a reasonable price. Second time here and will definitely go back. Great atmosphere. Traveled from Waco to eat here. Highly recommend. Worth the drive.

The universal comment around the table was that everything was very dry. I had the pork and the chicken and others had their brisket. Overall the flavor was kind of unremarkable in bland but completely edible and satisying. The sides were standard and all were good. I had their coleslaw which was unique in that it contains cilantro, so that may not be for everyone. I also had their dirty rice, which was just regular rice with barely any spice on it. I’m spoiled as I routinely eat Kansas City BBQ. The place has a lot of ambience and the service was excellent and all of the workers were extremely nice.

I’m not excited about the place, but I’m not disappointed either. The folks that run the place are amazing, welcoming, and very accommodating. There’s a neat theme going on, and the seating arrangements are not overcrowded. It’s comfortable. The food was OK, though. I wasn’t super impressed as it was regular BBQ, at best. The pulled pork comes in at a good half pound serving size. I also had the cole slaw and mac and cheese as sides. They were OK. It tasted good, but nothing wow’d me. Cole slaw wasn’t watery and added good flavor and texture to my BBQ sandwich. The beer was exceptionally cold! That was quite the treat. Frozen glasses are always a nice touch. I will say, I’m not sure one should name a dessert “Oreo pie” when Oreo’s aren’t involved. Behind the register, through the doorway, I saw the fridge open up, and it was loaded up with Great Value Twist and Shouts.

Despite the electrical or technical issues at Mike Ryan’s show last night it was a great turn out!! We love and enjoy this place when country music artists are there.

BBQ and more. The 1/2 rib platter was, in opinion, was some of the best BBQ I have eaten. The smell alone as walk into the place is great and you can still smell it 20 minutes later. Sauce both good, House and hot, with flavors. But didn’t need any sauce’s as ribs were great without them. But had to try them. Mac n cheese, baked beans and French fries were very good. Especially the fries. Appears to be home made. Staff friendly and helpful. Will be going there again. New favorite BBQ place.
