I ordered this place through Postmates and was like WHAT THE HELL. I didn’t know chicken could taste that good or be that tender. The sides were amazing! The only thing I would change is make that spaghetti less sweet

Yum! I recently moved to Nashville and honestly have been struggling to find delicious food. This hit the spot! Delivery was fast and the food was super flavorful! I had the catfish, Mac and cheese, sweet potatoes and dressing all of which I would order again.

You will not be disappointed at all! I’ve eaten their food often and recently had them cater a special event for my family. Everyone thought the food was very delicious. An added plus is that the vegetable options are all cooked without meat….news to pass on to anyone that is a vegan. Everything is full flavored!

I didn’t realize when I went in how many different options there are. I was super excited and I wanted to try them all!! I had roast beef with carrots and potatoes, macaroni and cheese, collard greens and some sweet potato casserole!!!! ALL OF IT DELICIOUS!!! Well worth the money spent! Not to mention the lemonade was fantastic!! Definitely going to be a repeat customer!!

Maybe because we ordered delivery but we didn’t get what’s shown on the photos..We got hard old fried chicken, macaroni and cheese wasn’t at ALL like in the pics..Its tasted like milky seasonings if that makes sense?? And the greens were really bitter, even the candied yams weren’t very good..Plus they forgot to send my 2 can pops with my order…Maybe we got the early weeks refrigerated left overs…Yeah for $60 bucks I should of went to the grocery store…It’ll be a Hard Pass next time for me…

I truly struggle with this rating, as I understand this is a mom and pop restaurant owned by a Community Pastor and his wife. Unfortunately, my daughter and I were pretty disappointed in the taste of nearly everything—and it truly pains me to say that. We were visiting from California and asked the locals for a great soul food restaurant and they recommended Barr’s. So my daughter and I proceeded to try a variety of dishes. We both were excited to try the catfish dinner. Unfortunately, the catfish wasn’t cooked long enough. Both of ours were incredibly wet. The flavor was good but I couldn’t get past the wetness to fully appreciate the flavor. My daughter had double fries and I ordered the greens and Mac & cheese. The greens were just ok. The Mac and cheese was flavorful and cheesy but nothing exceptional, if I’m being honest. I also ordered the chicken dinner and the chicken just wasn’t good in my humble opinion. It was a bit dry and lacked flavor throughout. I also ordered the pinto beans, which were good, but after a few bites, they were a bit too salty. The sweet potatoes were tasty, but they were just a little too wet. I also ordered a side of dressing, which is cooked with diced red peppers, which I don’t favor, so I wasn’t very particular about the dish as a whole. If red peppers is your thing, then the dressing might work for you. The cornbread was a bit dry and bland. Lastly, my daughter ordered the banana pudding for dessert while I ordered the peach cobbler. I have to say that those two dishes were the most disappointing. The bread pudding was just ok and peach cobbler wasn’t it at all. Bot the crust and the peaches lacked flavor and just weren’t very palatable. The meal was delivered through UberEats and it was delivered pretty promptly. For everything we paid about $75. If we return to Nashville, we’ll give this place another try, but I think it will be in person dining to see if the experience is any better. ⭐️⭐️

Soul food . So my favorite thing to get will always be sweet potatoes first , the flavor is always 10/10 and consistent in flavor . Then Mac and cheese . I’ve tried almost the entire menu , I loved the fried chicken . I don’t think dessert is their strong suit. I’ve had a few different cakes and banana pudding and let’s just say , the food makes up for the lack there . I’ll try to get more pictures , but once I get in the car , I’m already eating .

Came in exactly at 2:59 and at 3:00 when my order was made thought I would get the lunch special but nope full price dinner meal. With that being said if you decide to eat here make sure you go for the lunch special because its so expensive for dinner.
