My experience at this establishment was characterized by its efficient fast counter service, allowing customers to place their orders upfront and then enjoy a comfortable dine-in experience. The food was notably delicious and arrived promptly, reflecting the emphasis on quick service without compromising on taste. Following a round of drinks at the nearby Wurst Bar with friends, this place provided a perfect continuation of our evening. The cleanliness of the premises was noticeable and added to the overall positive impression. The ambiance exuded a calm and relaxing vibe, creating a welcoming atmosphere for a leisurely meal. Whether for a quick bite or a more leisurely dining experience, this spot offers a well-rounded package of good food, efficient service, and a serene environment.

It’s been really impressive to watch this place go from pop up events to a full fledged restaurant. Overall the food is really pretty good, but some of the flavors leave a little something to be desired. The atmosphere in the dining room also feels a little dreary. But the staff are friendly and I would say it’s worth giving this place a try. Their crab rangoon is by far the best thing on the menu and worth a visit all on its own.

Tried this new place in Ypsilanti. They have a decent amount of vegan options that are clearly marked in their rotating menu, from spring rolls and dumplings, stir fries (ask to make vegan), pad thai, and curries. They have vegan desserts too.

Our first visit and the food lived up to expectations. I had the Drunken Noodles. with chicken. It was very good. It was just spicy enough to add a little kick to the dish.

Really enjoyed the food. Loved the papaya salad, egg plant basil stir fry, the star attraction –stir fried pork belly. Tofu red curry dumplings were also great. The sticky rice is a perfect palate cleanser.

Hole in the wall. Flavorful dishes. Tasty food. Very limited menu items. The day that we went, fried rice was not in the menu.

We absolutely love Basil Babe! We’ve been getting their food since the pop ups at Cultivate and it’s so nice to have a brick and mortar restuarant to visit. They have great vegetarian options and a good range of spice levels and the food is always top notch no matter what. The staff is so friendly and know that this is a new restaurant with sometimes long wait times occur so be patient and know it’s all worth it. We love getting the spicy eggplant stir fry and chili jam stir fry (with a fried egg of course), the yellow curry, mushie mode dumplings and of course the crabby rangoons.

AMAZING! RUN to this restaurant and try it out if you haven’t done so already. Both ambiance and service were on-point. Basically ended up ordering the whole menu. You really can’t go wrong with anything at Basil Babe.

We’ve dined here several times already and Basil Babe is now in our top tier list of places to eat in Ypsi. Whenever we come here I always wear my sweatpants because I know I’m going to stuff my face because everything on the menu is fantastic. Hands down the best pad thai, delicious curry and, of course, amazing dumplings. We go weekday nights and service has always been quick. We’ll definitely be frequent visitors.
