It’s such a great hidden gem! We would of never found it without a friendly suggestion from a couple we chatted with at The Back Porch bar. I didn’t get your names, but thank you for the great recommendation. The food was delicious, and the service was great, definitely marked as a favorite!

No complaints here — great food and huge portions! I got the hangover bowl and my kiddo loved the brunch buffet. Family member ordered the bacon jam gouda omelette and he said it was the best omelette he’s ever had and will stop by again anytime he’s in town. Also loved the fact they have a changing table in the bathroom — huge bonus!

Update 7.6.23: Recently, we were able to fly out to Florida for another visit and we just had to dine at Basil & Baxter’s again. We loved it so much the first time, that we just couldn’t pass up the opportunity. As we experienced during our last visit, the food was fantastic. There were a couple of new items on the menu, one of which was an appetizer called “Flexing Mussels”. We shared an order of Flexing Mussels, Baxter’s Bangin’ Shrimp and Aioli Fries. All were super delicious. Including a couple bottles of Austin Hope Cabernet, I was feeling a bit full and decided to order a lighter dinner and went with the 8 oz filet w/mashed potatoes. I’ll make this short and just say that all 5 of us really enjoyed our meals, the appetizers, the drinks, and each other’s company. Heck, we were even lucky enough to meet the owner who was seated nearby and asked us how we like the Austin Hope Cabernet. Super great experience and we still highly recommend Basil & Baxter’s!

Bottomless mimosas is a great start to any review. Could honestly just stop there but alas we must press on. Child friendly and accommodating. Open floor space with modern finishes. Must stop brunch spot! The Hangover Bowl is a perfect mix of creature comforts – tots, fried chicken, sriracha, gravy, and bacon. LETS GO!

Food was great, very nice atmosphere, but when I asked the waitress why they charged me a higher price than what was listed on the menu she said, “oh, that must be an old menu. They probably raised the price and didn’t change it.”. They also charge you for rolls that you don’t order. The food was amazing but I didn’t really appreciate how they handled that. The price listed on the menu is what I should be charged.

We have visited dozens upon dozens of restaurants, and so far for us this is literally the best restaurant in Northwest Florida. Quality is incredible, food is always perfectly cooked, and every bite is a spiritual experience. We have gone many times over the years and have never been disappointed. The staff is wonderful and the cooks know what they are doing. If you are visiting the area, this place is worth the visit. The food is still worth it even at double the price. I am not exaggerating when I say it is incredible.

Cute place!! The food was really good! They had unique food and the portions were big. We got there early (when they opened), so we didn’t need a reservation. But by the time we were leaving, it was starting to get busy. My step-daughter ordered the blackened shrimp alfredo (good) and I ordered the bourbon steak with fried new potatoes and sauteed green beans. (Also good). Definitely see us going back soon! And the wait staff was super nice and had amazing service!

We came during Sunday brunch. Only the brunch menu was available (we didn’t realize). Food was good, though some prices seemed a little high. My main gripe was the feel of the place. The outside aesthetic says “local / hole in the wall” but inside looked like a cheap house flip trying to look premium, with a menu and prices to match. Fortunately the food was good or we would’ve been quite disappointed. Even so, all things considered we will probably not be returning. The locals seem to love it though.

A refreshingly good restaurant. Went for a special occasion, the food was absolutely delicious. Everyone at the table got a different dish from the menu and we couldn’t stop stealing from each other’s plates!
