I’ve driven and walked by this place for almost a year and always thought, man those Pizza slices that look like wings on the side of the building are awesome! Its like Nashville, or Austin, but here! and Pizza!

Best thin pizza in town. They are closed on Sunday and Tuesday, Tuesday ah who cares but Sunday such a bummer two times we were craving their pizza and ugh it’s Sunday. Never over sauced good and stringy cheese., crisp thin crust. Love this place.

Best pizza in Oakland. I would say the same of Hi-Life before it closed down but Basil’s listing on GrubHub disappeared and their website has been down for a week so I suspect the worst. What do you expect when no one wants to go outside without a mask STILL in July of 2023?

I was expecting a New York style slice but got something that tasted like it had been sitting out all day and was just heated up, super stale tasting, and twice the price of what I’d find back east 🙁 otherwise I love the idea and style of the establishment I just wish the pizza was better

Pizza is very good thin crust style with minimal cheese and sauce but fresh toppings and very good overall. They didn’t have the salad ingredients that I ordered but I was given a couple of fresh slices as compensation

Being from Philadelphia, I’m always on the lookout for a good stromboli, and this is the best I’ve found in East Bay, not that there is much competition. The dough is just right (i.e., not crispy), and the fillings traditional, with one exception: the sauce comes on the side, like with a calzone, instead of being incorporated. Either way is legit, but I far prefer the former. Also, their dipping sauce isn’t great, and there isn’t much. Since it has usually cooled quite a bit by the time I get it home, I generally stir in a bit of pizza sauce before briefly reheating. It’s difficult to find stromboli at all outside the Philly region, but despite my nitpicking, this is one of the best of the Bay. Expect it to take as long as a pizza to prepare, like 15–20 minutes, but it’s worth it and feeds 2–3.

Great pizza. I couple of very discerning friends noted how good the pizza is. Well paired selection toppings and an overall delicious crust.

Stopped at Basil on late afternoon, opted for a Vegan Stromboli. Made fresh as I waited and people watched. It was worth every minute. Delicious!!! Been craving more than decent Vegan pizza options, this hit the spot!!! Craving sated.
