Absolutely a must-try! Drove by this place one afternoon & saw that this had been featured on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives so we knew we had to try it out. I’m so glad we stopped in! It did not disappoint. Got the classic fish & chips, fish tacos & the jumbo fried shrimp. The food came out piping hot & we dug right in. Every bite was delectable. The classic fish & chips was swai fish & it melted in your mouth. No one in our party has heard of this fish but certainly enjoyed it.

The absolute BEST fish and chips experience ever! The batter was perfectly textured, the tartar sauce is so unique that lets the fish be the star of the meal but adding just enough of a note of flavor that you will fall in love with it! Hand cut chips that will make it the perfect match up. The owner is so personable and you can tell he has a passion for food. He comes from a lot of experience. Stop in today!

These are hands down the BEST fish and chips I’ve ever had.… in the world! I’ve had plenty of fish and chips over my life and nothing compares. The gluten free was also fantastic, I tasted no different between the gluten full and gluten free which is unheard of for GF folx.

We stopped out of curiosity for their Vegan Fish tacos, and it did not disappoint! They were hand battered, marinated, and super delicious. The owner even hand cuts it so the texture is more flaky. Super tasty, wouldn’t have thought to check it out based in the name, but wow! Glad we did! New favorite vegan fish place in town!

We stopped here on our way home from our very long US-Canada road trip. My husband wanted seafood badly and we happened to be driving through Portland. He found Batterfish on Google and looked like a great place to try. The gentleman working greeted us with a smile and was super nice. We ordered two orders of traditional fish and chips and one curry. OMG SO DELICIOUS!! We all loved our food, I loved the curry the most. Amazing! We were so full but my husband gained a churro addition while travelling through the US so had to try those. Very yummy! Thank you for one of the best fish and chips we’ve ever had. Wish we lived closer to enjoy this more and try the other flavours on the menu.

As the name of the restaurant suggests, the batter on the fried fish is fantastic! Perfectly crunchy over a delicate and tender fish fillet. I can’t imagine you could go wrong with any of the flavors, since they’re pleasantly subtle. The owner is a great guy and very friendly. If you have a chance to chat with him, you’ll feel like you’ve already been friends for years. Definitely recommend stopping by!

Excellent Fish and Chips! Really impressed with all the options they have (gluten free, vegan, a variety of different batters like garlic ginger). A coworker from out of town knew about this place for their gluten free version. I had the regular and would put them in the top tier of fish and chips in Portland. They also have a vegan offering which uses a seaweed marinated tofu that our vegetarian coworker ordered and said was great. The chips (fries) are really good too. The owner was working and chatted with us a bit, really nice guy! I will happily come here again (I get cravings for fish and chips).

The fish n chips, tacos and churros are great, but it takes a good 30 min to get your food. They are never that busy but the wait is always so long. If your not in a rush it’s worth it.
