Been here dozens of times and finally taking time to share a review. By far the Des Moines metro top Indian Restaurant. Family owned business where they greet you with friendly appreciation. The restaurant is very clean with wonderful spice smells to enjoy. The food is delicious with a wide range of spice / heat. Hours and days of buffet has expanded and it’s SO GOOD…. Limited beer / wine options but they have Flying Horse and Taj which is all they need.

I’m a huge foodie! I regularly travel for foods of all cultures. We are so lucky to have such an authentic Indian restaurant be so local. Bawarchi is a modern mom and pop hole in the wall. The owners are incredibly friendly and personable. They recently celebrated their 2 year anniversary. I’ve had many of their dishes; and my personal favorite is their Chicken Korma. Their chicken is fall off the bone tender. Every bite is a pleasurable experience full of diverse spices and a beautiful array of colors. I went here for dinner with my wife. It was quite busy on a Tuesday night, around 7pm. They told us it would be a 15-20 minute wait for a table, and took our number, saying they would call me. We went to the Indian grocery next door and browsed around. They never called. Half an hour later we went back, and they had a table for us.
