I purchased 5 pair of jumbo fried crabs. It only took 10 minutes for my order to be ready. The batter was delicious however the crab meat was old and hard. I will not be purchasing anything else from Bay Seafood.

They need to be put out of business they have no AC the worker lady was very rude I paid 40 dollars just to get the wrong crabs she refused to remake or give me a refund but she took the crabs back I would never go back there they are disrespectful and very unclean

I did not order because the lady quoted prices different than what was posted and would not honor posted prices. I already noticed posted prices were more than online prices, mentioned it but continued because I can understand that happening, but not contradict what is right in front of both of us at the restaurant. For example, she said the 8 piece shrimp was $8.99, although it’s posted at $8.59. I pointed it out and asked shouldn’t it be sold at the price posted…she said no, and repeated $8.99. I took pics of the menus and let her know I would be posting. The place “appeared” dirty in the waiting area also, but I know that’s how it is sometimes. Hopefully the food is prepared sanitary. The menus need to be rewritten, retyped, remade, and replaced.

I enjoy their crabs.This will be the last time I go there. A worker was outside picking up trash without gloves. He came in the back door and I came in the front.I was ordering crabs the man took crabs out and place it on the counter to cook.I told the lady he can’t make my crabs because he was just outside picking up trash from the ground. She said I will make it. She threw those crabs out. I had to tell her to put gloves on she was upset with me oh well I’m not trying to get sick. They need to shut them down and it’s not clean in the cooking area.

I am really disappointed at my most recent visit. I normally receive pretty decent food. However, this time my crab battered shrimp were bad. I went to bite into one and the taste almost made me vomit! I smelled them and they were definitely spoiled! Please check your food before, leaving. I probably will have to find another place to get good seafood from. I won’t keep chancing myself to possibly get food poison or worse from here! My confidence in this place has been definitely ruined!

After seeing a foodie blog about this place I wanted to try it… I was met with 90 degree heat when walking through the door(No AC) and roaches. Not one, several. One gentleman commented after his girlfriend pointed them out. Every restaurant has them, theirs just come out during the day. So its was a no for me and several people behind me.

I can get past the shabby digs- a powder blue stand alone carry-out, in the middle of Norfolk. Fair prices for not so excellent fare. We ordered the jumbo fried shrimp (jumbo but greasy and overly battered= soggy) and crab egg rolls (no visible crab, but lots of minced seasoned cabbage and a mild hint of crab flavor). Customer service is curt and you’ll pay extra for sauces. I gave 1 star, because the prices are pretty reasonable..but that’s about it, so good luck if you decide to go anyway.
