I’m a regular at bb.q locations in New York but this was my first time eating here and I was incredibly disappointed by the consequences their choice of packaging had for my takeout order. I placed an order for wings at 12, got there at 12:25 to pick them up, and found that my wings were in a sealed plastic container. I opened them as soon as I got into the car but the damage was done already, they are a steamy mushy mess, no crunch whatsoever. It may seem petty but the whole point of why I patronize bb.q chicken is how amazingly crispy it as, and that it stays crispy as it cools down. Other bb.q locations have lined cardboard containers for takeout, that allow the chicken to breathe as it is transported. The staff was lovely and service was great, but I can’t in good conscience recommend that you get takeout from this location until they swap to a packaging style that doesn’t ruin their food. Once that’s fixed, it’s an easy five stars.

Look, this is the best Fried Chicken in CT full stop. Great food, great service, great vibe. You need to stop in and have the Honey Garlic wings. I can’t get enough!

I love Korean-style fried chicken, so bb.q is easily my favorite chicken place in New Haven. I usually go for the secret sauce, which has a slight kick of heat that makes my mouth water just thinking about it. The price may seem expensive, but the small portion is enough to fill me up even if I was ravenously hungry before. Definitely go try them out, you won’t regret it!

Spent almost $100 on chicken and over half my order was incorrect. Ordered a large wings of fire and literally got a large order of original wings. I had to driver over 40 minutes there and back to find that the order I spent my money on had been wrong AGAIN. This place used to be good when under old management. Now it’s completely over priced, and mediocre at best. Seems like there no quality check at the restaurant. Never coming back here again, no longer recommending this place. It should be avoided. Haven chicken across the street has much better quality chicken.

Was in the area due to a business trip and am I glad I stopped by. Crispy, moist chicken, service and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Had a great time. Been to several BBQ Chicken locations but this location has me wanting to visit as much as possible. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone!

The best chicken place in town! Love the original golden olive chicken as well as the secret sauce, which is a bit spicy but more sweet. Chicken is tender and seasoned well.

One of the best experiences you can have in New Haven if you aren’t ordering a pizza. Chicken is succulent and savory with any kind of flavor you’re looking for. Got the spicy mala, which was great. Joseph was a fantastic host and happy help guide my friend and I through the menu. Don’t look for fried chicken anywhere else!
