This is the real deal! If you’re looking for good food and atmosphere in a little Louisiana town, this is your spot! I had the Poboy and the bread was melt in your mouth, finally found out that they make it fresh there. Fried catfish and red beans were wonderful Everything fresh in the house.

Great place for lunch. We had the fried shrimp and fried catfish platters. Both were very good. The parking lot was filled with locals, and as we were leaving, two sheriff deputies were arriving for lunch, so this is a popular place.

A gem of a roadside restaurant next to the market. We stopped for lunch after spending hours at the Whitney Plantation nearby. This Cajun restaurant had a great menu, great service. Grilled catfish was delicious! Highly recommend for other visitors looking for a low key, local meal.

It is a very authentic Cajun restaurant where I enjoyed a gator burger and a pecan pie.

Stopped for lunch after visiting the adjacent plantation. I was disappointed. Prices were quite high, the catfish had been fried in oil that wasn’t hot enough, making them too greasy, but the waitress was nice. Hushpuppies were over-cooked. The place has a homey atmosphere, but the cook must have had a bad day. It draws a large crowd of plantation visitors, but they could do really well if they improved the cooking quality to match the prices.

This small town gem has some delicious offerings! We came to the area for the day and stopped here for lunch. We had the crawfish boil, fried shrimp, the lunch special which was fried catfish with jambalaya and white beans. We also had the pecan pie and a mint julep, it was ALL delicious! If you’re in the area, don’t hesitate to stop by for some authentic local and delicious home style cooking!

Ordered the Shrimp plate. Expected large shrimp they are more like shrimp nuggets. Bread was toasted but burnt on one side. Wanted crawfish was told it was out of season. Heard another waitress say they had a special. Which happened to be crawfish pasta but we had already ordered & our waitress didn’t tell us the special. I had looked forward to eating here again as I had eaten here 5 years ago on my last visit. But it just didn’t have the same vibe this go around. But I did get my peach hot sauce which I LOVE! So very mixed emotions it didn’t hold up to my last visit.

We stopped here for a late lunch. The grilled shrimp salad was very tasty and filling. The shrimp were perfectly seasoned.

First of all. I loved the atmosphere. A real dive vibe. Lovely people. The food just isn’t that good. Ordered Tommy’s grilled catfish special (used cheap oil to cook broccoli which were soggy and yuck). Kids liked the fried catfish and my catfish was good. All the things we wanted to try just were not in stock: rabbit, alligator, Just not what I confirmed as a meal. If we had a choice we would not return for the food.
