What a gem! A cool little hole in the wall with mile high fresh daily hand patted burgers. Very unique combinations that I didn’t try but several other customers did. So I got to see them. What I love, is all the homemade goodness that Big Country is putting out. Homemade everything. The Smoked meats are phenomenal! I’ve tried the Brisket, Ribs, 1/2 Chicken, Wings, and can’t forget the wonderful Eastern NC BBQ with all the fixens! My favorite sides are collards (yum), pasta salad, macaroni and cheese, and potato salad. Oh also the coleslaw with the pork bbq and brisket is great. I hope you will give this little gem a try! I was pleasantly surprised and impressed! ❤️

One man dared to cook all his meat himself just to ensure it was a consistent delicious product. Really though if you’re anywhere near this place and pass up the opportunity to at least get a burger here if not the brisket then you are missing out on an experience in life. delicious food great prices

Food is always pretty good here and I’m glad to still see this place in business after a few years. We’ve been visiting since they opened and the food never really disappoints, so we made sure to visit here 2-3x during our week of vacation. The pricing is also reasonable with large portions. The grilled burger is awesome. He mistakingly thought we wouldn’t eat it all by ourselves since it’s two grilled cheese and bacon sandwiches with a burger patty between them…we ate it all lol. The chicken philly was a group favorite with lots of meat – enough to split with someone. The BBQ is decent and the portion for the plate was large. Rib plate was ridiculously huge. The onion rings are the good beer battered kind. The staff is also friendly and polite. I could do without the owner’s overly vocal criticism of a NC university though, one we all graduated from…just keep that to yourself so that you don’t alienate your tourist season customers who probably went to school there or know a lot of people who have. It made for a very uncomfortable few minutes. Overall, a great and affordable beach restaurant that we’ll continue to return to when we visit.

This spot is an awesome local burger shop. It’s attached to a gas station, so it automatically signals something special. They also smoke meat right outside the front door, so the whole air around them smells amazing. I got a bacon cheese burger, and it’s easily one of the best burgers I’ve had, it beats the pants off any chain restaurant. My wife got the Philly cheese steak, and the steak, peppers, and onions were all cooked perfectly. We havent had more tender meat in a Philly before. Johnny, the owner, was super cool, as was the entire rest of the staff. The employees had a great family vibe, and it was almost like we were in their kitchen. We only come to the beach like once a year, but this will definitely be a go-to spot any time we come back. The only downside is the limited seating. There were only 3 booths, but it seemed most of the business while we were there was takeout, so I’m not sure how much of a hindrance that would be. Still 100% recommend this spot.

A small establishment with great food. I had the brisket sandwich plate. Excellent. My wife had the ribs. She liked them and loved the onion rings. My daughter had the cheeseburger and loved it as well. Nephew had the 2 hot dogs plate. Before I had a chance to ask him how his food was, 1 hot dog was gone. I’m assuming he enjoyed it

DELICIOUS! My family and I stopped in today for lunch and were very pleased with our choice to do so. Right when we walked in, the owner “Big Country” greeted us with a smile and was super friendly! Each of us got something different from the menu and it all came out hot, fresh and tender. The Brisket was soo juicy! And the fried pickles…PERFECT!!! I had the Carolina Burger and it sure did hit the spot. Mustard, onions, chili and slaw on top of a juicy beef patty! I can’t wait to go back here to try more food items. Awesome experience!

The owner made sure every customer was satisfied and got what they ordered in a timely manner. Super sweet staff and phenomenal burgers. I’m upset that we discovered them so late into our trip.. best burger I’ve had in a while and that’s truly impressive. Don’t get your burgers from anywhere else on the island.. and they even have BBQ and brisket made on site everyday.

We have been wanting to try this place all week. Boy we wish we tried it earlier so we could eat here a few more times before heading home. The owner was very hands on and super friendly. I had the bacon, mushroom Swiss burger wirh fries and it was absolutely fantastic! My husband had the classic cheeseburger with fries and he loved it. We heard everyone talking about the BBQ sandwich so we decided to order one. It was so delicious! The meat was very tender and full of flavor. The owner came around and gave everyone a sample of the brisket. WOW!!!!! Definitely the most tender, flavorful piece of brisket I have ever eaten.
