We had the Funk Burger which was absolutely delicious! I also let my waitress know I’d like to try a unique hard Cider. She made a fantastic choice. It was a Huckleberry Hard Cider made in Montana. This place is definitely worth stopping at before or after Beartooth Pass!

Good food in a small town setting. We had the smoked trout which was very tasty and the vegetarian lasagna which was also good. Service was a bit slow, but the atmosphere was charming so we just relaxed and waited.

Not many options in this very quaint mountain town just outside the NE entrance to Yellowstone. This must be the best choice but we only spent one night so not a fair assessment! The trout was very good but the rice pilaf was undercooked. The kids grilled cheese was more than ample sized. The kids spaghetti I’d say is a bit undersized and was also a tad undercooked. Great outdoor seating. Good service. Love the indoor decor. Highly recommend!

We stopped at Beartooth Cafe for a late lunch after a long day on the roads in and around YNP. The atmosphere was fun and the place was packed. We chose to sit outside instead of waiting on a table inside and I’m glad we did, we enjoyed the fresh air and the views. The chips and salsa as an appetizer was fantastic. I had the cheeseburger for the meal and it was really good as well. The service was outstanding.

We drove to Cooke City this morning from West Yellowstone. We stopped in the gift shop next to the cafe and the woman working recommend we go here and get the funk burger. Omg, it was soooo good. Our waitress was great! Thank you!!

Really cool spot in Cooke City just outside the Northeast entrance of Yellowstone. Good views of the Beartooth Mountains. Lots of street parking. I had a BLT on ciabatta with chips and a local beer. Tasty! Arrive early if you want a table.

I had the mountain trout dinner. My wife had the thick cut prime rib dinner. Couldn’t get any better. Great food, friendly waitress, and great mountain views from their sidewalk tables. Will definitely be back…

This was our first time in Cooke City. We chose this restaurant because of the attractiveness of the outside, and because of the reviews. At a restaurant, the host is a person’s first encounter with staff. One of the jobs of a host is to make the customer feel welcomed. This was not the case. When I asked the host (female, long blond hair with 2 partial french braids) if my husband and I might sit in the adjoining room, she started walking that way with the menus and we followed her. Her body language and the sound she made indicated she was put out by my request. The room only had a few tables, all empty, but it had windows and was sunny and bright, unlike the first room. We waited a few minutes, then a larger group of 5 was seated near us. When the waiter came in, he asked the large group what they wanted, took their orders, and walked away. It would have been nice to have been acknowledged or say something like, “I’ll be with you soon.” After waiting some more, I wondered if maybe he wasn’t our wait-person, and maybe we were being overlooked. I went over and told the host we’d been waiting, hadn’t been acknowledged yet, and asked if someone was going to be over. She was huffy with me, said that because of my seating request that the waiter was now very busy and we’d have to wait. I questioned why we weren’t waited on first since we were there first. She told us that we were not, that they were seated first. The way she said this was very rude, and I was taken aback because we clearly were there first. If the waiter had no idea who was seated first, he should have found out. He waited on us after he’d served their beverages, and we got our food fairly quickly and it was good. Later, my husband went back to the restroom and on the way back passed through the common area with staff. My husband heard this host telling other staff her story about me, his wife. How unprofessional! This young woman needs to think about how her words and actions hurt business. We travel a lot and have for many years, and have never been treated this poorly.

A relatively standard American pub/restaurant atmosphere. The good was okay, but, given where we are and lack of options in the vicinity, this was 10/10.
