You enter through a pawn shop and are immediately struck by the vast size of the restaurant. The dress code here is “smart casual/ trendy.” We had an excellent meal, every single thing tasted delicious. The waiter recommended 6-8 plates for the 4 people we had at our table. My favorites were the kale salad, roasted beet and whipped goat cheese toast and the small French dip sandwiches. The service was amazing too. Highly recommend this, it’s a super cool spot.

Probably one of the best meals I have had in years. Everything was delicious! The beef Wellington first came out overcooked, but the staff made it right quickly and gave us dessert on them. Our waitress gave us fabulous recommendations. The grilled cheese dumplings were to die for. Great place for a nice dinner. Definitely will be back! Oh, and the speakeasy feel added an extra layer of fun.

Such a cool speak easy. You walk into a pawn shop and walk through this door to a massive restaurant. I didn’t realize the restaurant was part of the Tao group of restaurants but I can appreciate why the place is so cool as it is part of their group.

My team and I had a great time at beauty and Essex. We used the time to team build of a great food and to our advantage. This was the perfect spot. The waitresses were amazingly attentive, the food was precisely warm, and we made sure to tip accordingly. If you’re looking for a place to stop in for a delicious bite, then , this is your place.

Posh digs inside of a pawn shop make for a unique experience that serves up darn good bites with excellent service. The strip and truffle Mac were both excellent mains. As a solo diner it’s clear the plates are meant for sharing but that’s ok since I can eat for a family. Oysters were fresh and accompaniments on point. Opened with a woodsman to imbibe and it was one of the more memorable drinks I’ve had recently. Service was on point the entire experience as well . The only criticism was an oxidized glass of Malbec. Rarely order by the glass, but feel given the establishments sensibilities, that it shouldn’t have made it to the table. Nevertheless I would return and the glass was replaced without hesitation.
