Wait staff is very friendly. The food was tasty and served quickly. This is a good stop for a meal with family. You can talk, socialize and enjoy a meal in this quaint rustic restaurant. The meals we enjoyed this day were: fish & chips, buffalo chicken salad, soup, &side salad, the kids had Mac and cheese, spaghetti and french fries. All served with a smile. We would have had dessert, but we needed to get back on the road.

This was a good stop. We were referred by a contact at a local business to eat at the restaurant, so we gave them a try! It looks like an old house they converted into a restaurant. Takes you back. The food and service were great! We’d definitely come back if we’re in the area again.

I’m from the Philadelphia area. A colleague and I went out to State College area to pick up a used vehicle on a trailer. He and I hate fast food and were looking for some decent food to eat, before making the 3 hour trek back to the shop. I saw nothing within the State College area that piqued my interest or had decent reviews, so I chose something further down along the way. Let me state, that this took place on a Sun. THIS eatery was 1 of 2 that seemed OK, with the 2nd one only a few hundred feet farther, across the street. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food.

The Bel-Vue Inn apparently known locally for its special, fried fish. Several members of our party got the special. I got the Iceberg and Haddock salad. As we waited, I expected chunks of steaming hot, beer battered fishy goodness on top of a chunk of cold and crispy iceberg lettuce. What I received was a deconstructed fish stick on a deconstructed bed of lettuce. Essentially, a huge bowl of shredded hoagie lettuce interspersed with what appeared to be a simple frozen stick of Haddock?, that seemed to have been run through the blender after being fried. The special, fish and chips, was 2 or 4 fish sticks with a pile of fried potato orbs, all shockingly perfectly round and certainly also frozen. To end the meal, I had what was represented as coconut cream pie. The topping was meringue, and it seemed to be trying to distance itself from the cold, flavorless, gelatinous concoction that has the consistency and, I imagine, the flavor of ballistic gel. There was nothing representative of cream in that.

Popped in here while driving home from Elk county. Glad we stopped here over the name brands. Quick, friendly service. The fish and mashed potatoes were outstanding. The wings were amazing (we even ordered an extra dozen!). Even my five year old loved her fish stick and broccoli! Huge portions! 10/10 would drive hours to come back!
