Bella Ciao Menu – New York, NY

Type : Italian restaurant

Location : New York, NY

Formally a tourist hot spot in the heart of
New York’s Little Italy, Bella Ciao, meaning “goodbye beautiful” –and inspired by a folk
song from Italy— has taken over the spot of Capri, known for its attraction to tourists and
quality Italian dining. The new spot, with its new name is fitting, as the owner, Marcello
Assante of Local 92, Capri and Marcellino to name a few, is saying goodbye to his
previous restaurant and creating a new community gathering place, to bring a sense of
unity and belonging in the strange time of the pandemic when New Yorkers seek places
of comfort and gathering.

Laid-back dining turning out pastas, wood-fired pizza & seafood dishes, plus outdoor seating. Based on 347 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 3.5 stars. Price $$

This was the restaurant that got me into fettuccine alfredo, and I will forever be grateful because it was super delicious. We also ordered the fried calamari and lobster ravioli, both were also pretty good. However, the lobster ravioli was pretty disappointing for the price point, so I’d recommend something a bit more worth it. Other than that, the service was good and the ambiance was nice.

Foods really not that good, service sucked. I could forgive that because of the feast but it took literally 25 mins each time we ordered drinks which is wild. Took them probably 2 minutes to bring the check and process the card though. The fried calamari was top notch but the bruschetta looked and tasted bleh. Pasta was way overcooked too.

DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!!! They took forever to get our drinks. Then they brought us bread and it had no taste and it was hard. The food was brought out and not only did the food look disgusting it was the worse thing I have ever tasted !!! It was super salty. The lasagna looked more like soup. And to top it off the personal was rude and not attentive.

Do not eat at this restaurant!!! The food was really bad. The mushroom bruschetta was composed of reheated frozen bread that was hard with canned mushrooms on top.

Working hard to get customers in and have a great attitude when people say no. All of the staff are very friendly. Service is amazing. The food is very tasty! We especially love the bread! Beautiful view!

Very disappointing and overpriced experience to say the least. Carbonarra was not good and I had a better one 2 days earlier for cheaper. The pizzas are badly done with soggy dough and served on an aluminium tray that they cook it on. It is not difficult to transfer onto a plate. And everything is overpriced. Way better restaurants in the area for example Da nico!

Do not walk, run away from this place!! Food was terrible, service was terrible, bathrooms were terrible. We left this place hungry in search of anything else. The bruschetta was just a large and not very toasty hunk of bread with cheese and some tomatoes thrown on. No flavor. We had to request pepper salt, basil and oils (which initially they brought us some empty oil dispensers) to give it some flavoring. The margarita pizza was just a limp and soggy sad cheese pizza. I requested basil as it is listed on the menu as part of the pizza and was told by our server that it did not come on it. Gnocchi was of badly reheated store bought quality in generic marinara sauce. Carbonara was inedible.

I’m giving 2 stars because the sangria was REALLY GOOD. The mushroom bruschetta came out cold on soft thick cut french bread with canned cold mushrooms an tomatoes. They had to warm it at one time somehow as the side were blacked and the cheese at one time melted but was cold upon arrival. The pasta bolanaise was just ok but was hot. The Chianti was ehh Would not eat here’s again but would come for the sangria

It’s a great place. They may have had a few bad reviews, but often complainers are the loudest.
