A brasserie is an informal, relaxed, & unpretentious restaurant, particularly one found in France or modeled on the French brasserie. A brasserie serves hearty, fine food and a vast array of drinks. But at Benchmark, you will enjoy an American brasserie. Fall in love with Benchmark’s creative menu, French-American with a local twist. Entrees taste both new and familiar, always delicious, as prepared by a classically French-trained chef raised right here.

Ribeye was cooked correctly (medium rare) with a good pepper sauce, but the percentage of inedible fat and gristle was quite high. Watermelon salad was watermelon, cucumber strips and a balsamic vinaigrette; slightly sweet but good with a steak. The bread buffing was moist and had a good taste but I’d recommend getting the sauce on the side and all them to replace the cream topping with vanilla ice cream.

This was our first time at Benchmark. Great atmosphere & service, and all the food looked great too; I would rate the food tonight a 3.5. I tried the NY Strip with garlic & pepper sauce. Both the Strip steak and the Ribeyes were cooked perfectly. I had the Onion Soup as an appetizer. Good size and good taste. Who doesn’t love melted Swiss cheese! A few too many croutons and not enough broth for me, but the taste was very good. The Gouda Bacon Mac had a large portion size but tasted a little floury, which overpowered the Gouda. The bacon was cooked perfectly, but there is never enough bacon for me.

The best ribeye steak I’ve had in my life. My wife and I try steak houses in almost every town we visit. We travel for work and we’ve been to every state east of the Miss and many to the West. Even Mallory’s in San Antonio wasn’t this good. 10/10 for the meal.

Lucky to have such a nice establishment in Texarkana. Jason and Becky run a first class operation. Always a real treat to entertain friends, family and visiting business associates at Benchmark. Thank you guys for running such a nice place.

We celebrated Valentine’s day at this fabulous restaurant. The entire night was well worth the 2 hour travel time. A very friendly staff; coupled with the ambiance, were the ingredients of an awesome evening. The owner personally visited our table. We enjoyed his very engaging conversation to welcome us for our first visit. He invited us to return to their Sunday brunch; held the last Sunday of each month. Great one-on-one customer attention and appreciation. Everything on the menu is a must try. Our waitress, Summer, guided us through the menu. She was professional, friendly and observant. We never wanted for anything..

This place has a reputation of being “expensive” I totally disagree. The quality of the food, the amazing service, the ambiance, it’s not much more than any other “upper” restaurant in Texarkana. I have been here twice and have had great food and great service each time. Highly recommend. Very unique for a Texarkana market. I know the chef and manager specifically moved back to to the area to do this. Very good people.

Excellent French based meals. The Jalapeño Duck appetizers are incredible. Tried the duck as a main course as well. Not bad, bit of an acquired taste. The potato side dish is great as well. One observation is that they use extremely fresh spices like they had plucked them from the garden (rosemary was excellent). Not a restaurant for loading up like a crawfish boil. Definitely a place for a refined palate. Portions are decent but also more aligned to European sizes so don’t expect leftovers.

Well, it took me 10 days to finally write this review because I was too disappointed and wanted to write an ‘unemotional’ review. We saw many ads on TV about Benchmark and decided to visit last weekend.

LOVE Benchmark American Brasserie!! Hands down the best restaurant I have been to since I moved to Texarkana. Family owned with absolutely amazing (literally perfect) food with excellent service. The owners take time to check on their patrons and are incredibly kind; the servers are excellent as well and very attentive and accommodating even on a busy night. We indulged with every course and it was worth every penny. Can’t wait to go back again and again!

The staff and food were exactly what I was looking for and just the best! If you’re ever stopping in Texarkana you have to eat here! Totally unassuming but a hidden gem for sure.
