What a fantastic dinner! We are at Benny Chow’s on their second night of being open and it was a wonderful experience. The food, service, and ambiance were all fantastic.

Visited Benny Chows for the first time last week and was surprisingly disappointed. Let me start with the good- the atmosphere was good, the decor is lovely and over in appearance is beautiful. Our waiter was very nice as well. Where I was a little disappointed was with the food – or lack of availability and the drinks. A few of the food items we were ordering were not available. And my martini was less than a normal pour. The second drink I ordered had a great taste to it however take out the huge block of ice and it was about two sips. I understand that there are certain drinks like a scotch where the ice serves a purpose but in this vodka drink it was rather surprising. I do not like leaving reviews like this but I do feel like honest feedback could be helpful.

I found that there were a few dishes that were hit or miss.

One of the best new restaurants I’ve been to in Houston. We got a few appetizers to try (crab Rangoon, shrimp dumplings and pork egg rolls) all 3 were amazing.

We took my parents here for our mom’s birthday and we were lucky that it was also Houston Restaurant Week! Definitely make a reservation if you don’t want to wait. The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant was very instagramable! Their portions for the HRW menu is enough to feed 2 people, and I highly recommend the Uni Shu Mai. Their Abalone sauce is the best I ever had and m I’m glad they keep it on the table! The best thing about Benny Chows is actually not their good food but their service! The staff had such great etiquette, they actually served each of us separate portions and they were always there when we needed them!

This place is gorgeous and the food is great. We’ve been looking for a good chinese restaurant in the loop and finally found one. Obsessed with the scallion pancakes. I had beef and broccoli and it was divine. We were recommended this dessert trio- but we didnt like it. Shouldve just ordered the one we were thinking originally…

First off the interior design is impeccable. One of the coolest looking restaurants I’ve seen by far. Service was friendly and cocktails well made.

Service was 10/10 but the food was disappointing. I’m Asian and everything besides the appetizers was very bland. If you’re looking for authentic Chinese food, you’re better off going to Hu’s Cooking or Chinatown for the right flavors and a fraction of the price. Also most of their dishes are Asian-American fusion (beef filet mignon with broccoli & fried rice with brisket). Even though we gave these a try, everything was pretty flavorless. Their demographic is non-Asians who probably aren’t familiar with Asian dishes so the standards aren’t that high. I suggest they hire Chinese chefs if they really want this experience to be worthwhile. (P.S I loved the mango pudding tho!)

#JoeFoodTour this restaurant recently opened about three weeks ago. Very impressive and incredible picture were the moments. Do not be confused by the black windows. The main entrance is off Washington right next-door to Chinese architecture. As you walk in the lobby area you were greeted by a very ornate bar area and then into the main dining hall where are you will see a large golden structure sculpture right in the center. They are known for their Peking duck and they are poo, poo platter, which is a great variety of starters. The beef and broccoli is made with filet mignon, very yummy. Definitely worth going to. And exceptional restaurant for that special date. #HowdyFromHouston #ThePropertyJoes #LivingLifeInHouston
