This place looks like a hole-in-the wall–totally unassuming. BUT it epitomizes taqueria cuisine. I used to eat here all the time when I lived here and always loved the food. The Navy transferred me away in 2006 and I didn’t have the opportunity to return until today. It’s exactly the same. The neighborhood has gentrified and construction is happening all around, but Benny’s is an anchor that holds Golden Hills to its roots.

Very good taco shop. My wife and I stopped in here on our way to the zoo and got breakfast burritos, they were delicious. Everyone was so nice it made our experience more enjoyable. Don’t judge a book by its cover, the food and people here are excellent.

Best surf n turf burrito ive tried in san diego is mostly all steak and shrimp with a good tasting chipotle cream, not like other places that out mostly fries. Burger was so good as well and the torta. ♥️

This restaurant has always been my default when I’m around 30th St. it’s really hidden, but it’s a neighborhood taco shop that sells bomb food I recommend it if you’re ever in a bind, and you’re by 30th off the 94 San Diego.

We tried three of their tacos (Al pastor, carne asada and carnitas) and their carnitas burrito and they were all amazing. Very flavorful and juicy. They were not shy with the portions at all either. Will definitely come back

Great size for the value, amazing taste. Took 1 star off for amount of oil in the al pastor nachos. They let me have al pastor instead of carne asada and overall it was great! I just didn’t like the amount of oil at the bottom of the nachos.
