I don’t know if I can truly say enough about how much I enjoyed my time at this restaurant. The food was incredible! But the staff might have been better. But please hear me when I tell you that their Ella’s tea and lemonades are no joke!!! Some of the best I’ve ever had, period. I also think it’s important to highlight a black owned business when it excels at this level of excellence. This is definitely a place that should be experienced.

Most amazing comfort food in GSO!! Fast and friendly service and we could NOT pick a fav: the cornbread, the collards, Mac & cheese, fried fish, meatloaf, okra… all above and beyond delicious. Today was my first time eating there I had heard about it on TV. The food was very good. Sides were seasoned properly the chicken was cooked to perfection. I even enjoyed the peach lemonade. The atmosphere was good and amazing customer service I will be back. I had a yeast roll. I do like the fact that they sell books by black writers in the front of the store. The prices were reasonable as well. If you are in Greensboro, North Carolina you need to try this place.

We arrived an hour before closing and there was a line and several people waiting for takeout. You place your order, give your name, try and find a “clean table “ and wait for your name to be called to pick up from the counter. The cashier was somewhat friendly as I had to constantly repeat myself because she was talking to different people that would walk up and just ask questions. Some items are not listed on their menu but we overheard it being called out. The wings are not whole wings they are wingettes.

I went here after seeing The Hungry Black Man this was a huge mistake it definitely was not worth a darn thing I paid over $11.00 for a plate with 2 small measley sides and skimpy party wings.The yams are mashed like mash potatoes they gave me a baby scoop of Mac and Cheese and mashed Yams I was still hungry after eating

If you’re looking for good food, get in your car and drive to Bens Boyz now. The Mac n cheese, sweet potatoes , turkey meatloaf and cabbage are my favorites. The potato salad is really good. The entire menu is good. You can’t go wrong.

Ok, so this is my 4th time coming here and I wish I would have done a review my first time. So, I went here after watching Mr.ChimeTime on YouTube. I am so disappointed that I’ve given this place multiple chances to disappoint me and waste my money. The Mac n cheese is egg noodles with a huge chuck of cheese to cover the top. That is not mac n cheese that noodles and cheese. The green beans, every single time I get them they are either too sweet, yes sweet, or too salty. The chicken wings are so dry. I went home and had to drown it in my own sauce. I honestly do not recommend this place. It’s a disappointment, seriously. You can find way better soul food at much more affordable price and taste better within the triad.

Update: Hours are just absolutely horrible! Serving dinner food but never during dinner hours. Can never catch this place open. What happened to 11am-9pm 7 days a week business hours? They’re always closed every holiday, even Juneteenth which was a huge wow.

A friend in the area brought me here. As a foodie, I must say this is a very good place to have a great meal. The art and ambiance eas perfect for an afternoon of chill. We ordered the wings meal. They were prepared most excellent. Our sides were mac and cheese and collard greens with cornbread, he also had a side of yams. All wonderful and tasteful sides. The cornbread could have used a little sugar but great nonetheless. My friend ordered what I remember as a cinnamon bun cake. It was delicious, however, it was too wet. I had Joe’s wings! They were the best Wings I have had in a long time! The pintos were too sweet! The lemonade was great! The place was busy, with good reason! But the tables were not clean. The atmosphere is great! The cabbage is good too! I did not like the tarter sauce. The staff was nice
