Established in 1989, Bernie’s Restaurant & Nacoochee Valley Guest House is a restaurant and lodging in Sautee Nacoochee, Georgia. We offer a peaceful setting, elegant cocktails, a wide variety of delicious food, and a warm, friendly atmosphere in which to enjoy hand-crafted soups, quiches, specialty sandwiches, salads, and entrees. We also provide full-service catering for bridal events, rehearsal dinners, weddings and receptions, and beyond. Our getaway next door includes two rooms: the Cherub Room and the Meadow Room. The former includes a king canopy bed, an electric fireplace, and a private bath and entrance. The latter, upstairs, features a king and twin bed with a trundle, a French window, and a private bath. What a delightful afternoon lunch! This was our second time visiting. Our server, Rachel, is a knowledgeable sweetheart. It’s a converted old home that is close to turning 100 years old. There is inside and outside dining. The view overlooks a field. They serve mixed drinks, wine and beer. The food is fresh and tastes wonderful! They do special events such as bridal showers, weddings and business meetings. We hope to return at least once a month.

My husband came across this gem while exploring Helen. It is quiet and relaxing with charming decor. The salads were perfect and the rolls tasty and served hot. We live 90 minutes away but will be back next time we are in town.

If you want a very friendly owner and staff PLUS an incredible restaurant, you cannot go wrong. We had a wedding rehearsal dinner here in 2013 and returned August of 2021 to stay for 3 nights 4 days. Owner Bernie and her daughter are hands-on in the daily operation and take great pride in their establishment.The staff is incredibly hospitable and caring. They show care and concern in each detail of their food and service. The food is exceptional, the lodging is quaint & comforting, & the staff are top notch. You feel like you are part of a loving family. This is a must do for any traveler wanting an exceptional experience.

Safran garlic mussels on angel hair noodles was incredible. We are not often in Georgia but if, we eat at Bernie’s. This was our 5th time in the last 3 years and every time we are impressed by the quality and the delicious taste of the food creations.
