Bern’s Tavern is one of the oldest Saloons in the State of Washington. Located in the Heart of Wine Country, Prosser, the saloon opened in 1904 under the name of A.D. Patterson, and later, turned cigar store during prohibition. Undoubtedly, it had ties to the old underground where Chinese Opium Dens once lingered throughout the town.
In the 40’s Bern Mercer changed the name to Bern’s Tavern and created the infamous Bern’s Burger. The name has stuck, as it is known to all.
The pub food is yummy and the environment resembles a museum filled with photos, instruments, antiques, and other town history.
Bern’s is now a full bar and only those of age 21 and older may enter. There are occasional nights of a variety of entertainment.

I will give one star because I can’t give zero. My husband and I needed a date night with a great burger and a round of golf. I guess we don’t get served when we aren’t seated at a table. And if we leave our drinks at the bar, I guess they are “empty so they are taken. We never got asked for a second round or even our dinner order taken. One and only time we ever stopped playing golden tee.

Haven’t been here since 2009 (live in the UK), returned to prosser this week so my first stop had to be Bern’s, and was not disappointed still the best, great beer, great food, great service, girl behind the bar was lovely.

We came in after a wine walk and waited over 30 minutes to our drink order. Then it took another 30 minutes to get our food order and then 45 minutes to actually get our food! We were there over 2 hours for an order that should’ve taken 45 minutes max to fulfill. Not happy

Frozen food tossed in a fryer. No fresh food in sight. One lone gal working her tail off to do EVERYTHING on her own. Our meal is taking twice as long as it should despite her best efforts. Food isn’t bad but it’s nothing more that what you can put in your air fryer at home. Service is very pleasant but stretched very thin.

My girlfriend and I were in there for the first time on Saturday afternoon (03/18/2023). We sat at a booth by the bar area, There were 2 bartenders working. One of them came over brought us menu’s and took are beer order. She promptly brought the picture of beer we ordered, the beer was cold and good. We slowly waited for one of the bartenders to come take our food order, but this never happened. Both of the bartenders were too busy talking to what appeared to be there friend at the bar. When the picture was empty and we were down to are last glass of beer a piece, I finally had to get up and ask one of the bartenders to please come take our food order. This bartender was not the one who had originally waited on us, but it did not matter at this point, we were hungry and wanting to eat. The food (Burgers) was brought to us finally and it was Delicious!!! We ate and then waited to see if one of the bartenders would come to see if we wanted more beer or whatever. This never happened so we finished everything, got up and went to the bar to try and pay are bill. The original bartender came to take our money for the bill and was not very friendly in doing so, My girlfriend and I debated if we should leave a tip or not, we did leave a small tip of 2 dollars and change, we normally would have left a much larger tip, but the service was so bad, that would have been too hard to do!

Waited over 30 minutes to get a beer order – then over a hour to actually get our food!!!! It wasn’t that big of an order (3 burgers) – locals serves before us…if I could give a zero I would! It wasn’t busy and people who came after got served before us…and it was the regular bartenders…NOT recommended!

It was the grossest place we had ever been. Their air conditioner was broke for over a week. The food was fried and the drinks were low on glasses so they had to serve in a solo cup. Would never go back. The most unprofessional place & dirty I’ve ever been to

Fight broke out a couple months ago, I was inside at the time then heard the commotion so I went outside and was trying to break it up one of the bartenders I believe his name is Josh thought i was fighting as well and pulled me off. When I was just trying to pull some of the other people off, it was all a big cluster and out of everyone that was involved I was the only one that got Banned. I even apologized for everything that happen and they still won’t let me in at all. Being Banned forever is a little excessive. I should’ve just not been allowed to come back for a couple months.
