Best Quality Daughter houses a vibrant, chic décor and new, unique Asian-American menu.
In 2018, chef Jennifer Hwa Dobbertin, wanting to address the sparsity of Asian-American female chefs in South Texas, developed a new concept through a series of pop-up dinners called Best Quality Daughter with fellow chef Anne Ng and artist Jennifer Ling Datchuk. Today Best Quality Daughter is located in the historic Mueller House at the Pearl Brewery.
Curated by chef Jennifer Hwa Dobbertin, Best Quality Daughter’s menu takes inspiration from her travels and the comfort food of her youth as a second-generation Chinese-American.

We really enjoyed our dinner. Each room has its own unique design in an old, renovated house. We were thrilled with the drinks. I had the nightshade, and the kids had the lemonade. The Thai salted lemonade was the best. As other reviews have said, the cashew chicken was the best entree, but the dumplings were the best dish overall. Since it was my birthday, our kind server brought us a dessert with a candle. It was very thoughtful.

This place is beautiful, a small restaurant with a beautiful and unique atmosphere. It has a very small menu, but its diversity allows you to sample things as a family style meal. (They recommend sharing the food with each other).

One of the best eats in town. Everything here is great. Portions are great too. Even had leftovers which were amazing even after! Very cool spot. Def dress well and fashionable. This place makes its on reputation. Absolutely incredible staff as well. So knowledgeable. Seriously I used to be 5 star server and yall got it down there. I like the way everything is executed and it’s very welcoming with plenty of great seating.

The most aesthetic place and it felt like how I’d want to decorate my home tbh (the under-the-radar cheeky artwork is perfection). The vibe is fabulous and the host was super nice-since it was just me dining alone from out of town, she was able to accommodate me without a reservation. Had the nicest server…Matty/Mattie?…attentive and informative about the menu but not bothersome at all.

Excellent service. Great choice of drink. I had the salted limeade it was very good. Husband had cashew chicken was delicious. I chose the tofu dish a bit spicy but definitely a large portion. ( 2 can eat from this).

I absolutely loved the experience and will be returning. My only complaint was the portions vs cost. Although the Pork Belly was delicious, I don’t feel it’s portioned for more than one person with a few pieces to take as left overs. It’s not a “family portion” like the menu offers it at $40. And I am not an over eater.
