Bethany’s Table Menu – Portland, OR

Type : Restaurant

Location : Portland, OR

Fine dining in the burbs! We are a fine dining, farm-to-table, scratch kitchen with a stable staff of warm-hearted professionals. Chef-owner Janet O’Connor never stops her striving to make Bethany’s Table the all-time favorite for her customers.

In addition to our limited and spacious seating indoors and out, Bethany’s Table also provides takeout.

As a result of 2022, and Chef Janet’s continual desire to deliver to our community, we began a gourmet grab-n-go called The Marketplace located nextdoor to the restaurant where you can purchase ready-to-cook meals, fresh house-made bread, pasta, sauces, stocks and many other specialty grocery items.

Family-owned bistro serving seasonal, French-influenced New American fare in contemporary environs. Based on 281 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.6 stars. Price $$

This is what you would call a “mature” restaurant, but not because it is for mature people, but rather because it feels mature as an establishment; and that’s a great thing. One thing I loved about this place was the ambiance and feel of it inside. It felt confident and well defined. It wasn’t trying to be anything than what it already had organically become. A pleasant place to eat, chat and just enjoy the moment. It does not hurt at all that the food is great too. If you’re looking for a pile of average to poor tasting food, this isn’t the place for you. The food here is served in perfect proportion to its refined taste. I tried the Angus Burger… mmm! Delicious! I don’t know what the secret sauce is, but it’s defined working, and the meat was definitely Angus grade. My wife tried the Crab Cakes and Stuffed Pepper Soup, both Gluten Free; she was equally impressed. I definitely recommend this place.

The food was good but the portions were small… ıf you are expecting the American size portions you’d be disappointed.

Came here for our anniversary last week and everything was top notch. We ordered the specials. Burrata for appetizer, Husband had the tenderloin, I had the halibut. The tenderloin was super good, better than most steak houses. Also I’d like to note I’m usually disappointed when ordering fish in a restaurant because all too often it’s over done. The ultimate test of an establishment for me is if they don’t screw up my fish. This dish was not a disappointment, excellently executed. Nice and crusty on the outside and tender on the inside. Yummm.

We had a really nice dinner. I had the halibut and my wife had the tenderloin. Both perfectly cooked good service and a nice atmosphere. I particularly liked the quality of the bread at the table, which felt very uniquely good. Seem like a pretty good value given what we had in the price and how fresh and well prepared everything was. Thanks for a nice date night evening out!

I picked Bethany’s Table for a business dinner, party of 5 and it was absolutely perfect. The menu has a wonderfully curated list of favorites, the food was perfectly prepared, our waiter was great – not appearing too often as to interrupt our conversation but often enough to provide us great service. They also seated us towards the back which provided more than usual privacy and was quiet – what you like when entertaining a customer. I’ll definitely be going back.

Beautiful, clean, amazing food. Great wines! Air conditioning! Edit: their attached marketplace has closed, but the restaurant is still a top choice for excellent food (check out lunch and happy hour for a bit less $). Really comfy outdoor seating, as well.

I chose to dine here for my birthday and I’m so glad! Everything was delicious and I appreciated the large wine selection. My partner loved the lamb dish and the sweet potato mushroom raviolis I had were outstanding. We’ll be back!

This is a great date night out with the spouse. They have a very great seasonal and farm to table menu. They do a great job mixing it up so that you have new things to try everytime you come.

Surprisingly great food and wines. We attended their price fixed dinner that pairs wines to the food. It was a fantastic evening. Don’t be dissuaded by the location (in a strip mall) as its a gem.

Immediately upon walking in an older blonde waitress informed my friend and I that it is recommended that next time we make a reservation, but that they accepted walk-ins. We were then seated promptly, but waited for a little over 20 minutes with absolutely no one approaching us which may have been understandable had they been busy. However, after looking around it was not even a half occupied restaurant. Furthermore, there had been two couples that arrived after us and they were serviced promptly, about 5 minutes after their arrival. Had ANYONE possibly even acknowledged we were there and said “we’ll be with you in a moment” we would have possibly stayed. As waiters continued to pass us back and forth we decided to leave. If walk-ins aren’t something that can be accommodated then walks-ins should not be accepted at all. For a restaurant that appears to be upscale we left disappointed. Perhaps the staff are racist or their service is subpar, regardless, will not be returning or recommending. After reading several reviews it seems like bad service is standard practice for this place.
