First time eating at this place. I went on the word of local coworkers. Charming simple interior and a great sandwich! They were very quick my order, the sandwich and soup were both very tasty and I liked how the croissant bread didn’t taste to buttery. Prices were normal for serving sizes. All around quality work lunch. I would go back next time I am in town.

Between the bread is understated. It is not a whirlwind experience but the lovely servers atmosphere deserves 5 stars from me.

Absolutely divine! The woman at the counter was so sweet. I got the BLT and my wife got the smoked salmon. The BLT and so much bacon on it but was not heavy or greasy. My wife loved the addition of cream cheese on her salmon which she said was delicious. The bread was so good too. We both cleaned our plates. Definitely doing that again. Great way to start off the day to spend in the quarter.

It is really ashame, because the food here is really good and the owner seems to really care about his customers. I haven’t had the best experiences with the rest of the staff. My order was rarely ever correct. When I did speak with the owner he graciously offered a free sandwich to make up for the several previous mistakes. Be aware you have to call at roughly 9:00 AM to have your lunch delivered before 1 PM, if they even have delivery still available. I called this morning to see if I could get my gratis sandwich delivered. Nope, they hit me with minimum of $20 for delivery. I asked if an exception might be made in my case, as I know they deliver in my building on a daily basis (and likely would have business there anyway). Nope. It’s not always easy for me to get away from the office and it would have been a greatly appreciated if an exception could have been made in the name of customer service. One day, when I can I will likely pick up the sandwich out of principal, but I don’t plan on spending any of my money here.

Had a custom-ordered sandwich, and all the veggies were fresh-sliced onto it, and tasted great. Location is right across the street from Lafayette Square dowtown, and they allow picnic lunching and will provide a basket and blanket. Employees were friendly and thanked me for my order by name when my sandwich was done. Would recommend to others!

Lovely friendly welcoming staff. Delicious and plenty full orders and decent prices. Thanks for making our stay so delicious… even offer a basket and blanket to go with lunch so you can sit in Lafayette Park. highly recommended.

Not good. I had a bagel with cream cheese. It wasn’t a bagel, just store bought roll in shape of bagel. Bagels are boiled, and this one was not. With cream cheese?!? No way. 1 oz of cream cheese is not considered cream cheese on bagel. Coffee was pretty good, little on week side, so if you prefer Starbucks coffee, you won’t like it.

Their salads are the worst in the area. I would not recommend having a salad from Between the Bread. The salad comes with lots spring mix greens, mix is because it has green and purple colors, not mix because of types of greens, no spinach, no romaine or other lettuce. If you are looking for a good salad, this is not a place to stop.

Called my order for one sandwich a hour in advance. Showed up to pick it up. Wasn’t ready. Waited. Waited. Waited. They finally just gave me a refund. Never did make my sandwich. I continued to question when my sandwich would be made. I think that they finally made my sandwich just to get rid of me. I was handed it with an insincere “sorry”. Took them one hour and 35 minutes to make the sandwich. My lunch was over. Will never go back. Please show my name prominently.

i USE TO LOVE BETWEEN THE BREAD – MY GO TO FOR CATERING MEETINGS – HOWEVER THEIR SANDWICHES HAVE BECOME SKIMPY TO BE KIND. EVEN HAD A PLATTER OF SANDWICHES WITH ENDS OF PICKLES AND EVEN ONE SLICE. THEY ARE DRY AND VERY UNAPPETIZING. Can’t imagine what happened with this business – but it definitely lacks the quality that turned me on initially. For the cost – its definitely NOT WORTH IT!
