The meat is very much respected at Bexar. I tasted the meat, salt black pepper and what made the meat which was heat and smoke! This is definitely my go to BBQ place in Tomball.

We went there once before but never ate because they were out of ribs. Tonight I called and they had ribs. Great! We left straight away because I really wanted to try this place. The potato salad was mediocre at best, the coleslaw I’ll rate the same. Now the prices were crazy. I ordered 6 ribs because I thought they were baby backs. That was over $30 for spare ribs, one coleslaw $3.50 and sausage link for $7.50 , I took the corn off. Not paying $4.50 for a single corn! Seeing how big the ribs were, my husband ordered 4 ribs ($21) and coleslaw and potato salad plus 2 Dos Equis, total $85! Hubby couldn’t believe how pricey they were and he doesn’t bother too much about cost most of the time we go out but now we know why there were only 2 other tables occupied when we came in.

Mediocre BBQ joint and comparable to Rudy’s down the highway.

Whoa! This place is good. Menu is simple and straightforward. We ordered 2 different burgers and shared, one with sweet burnt ends and one with their pork belly bacon. Sourdough buns beautifully grilled. There is outdoor space for music.

DELICIOUS BARBECUE! Had to try a little of a much as I could afford…. it was ALL amazing! I had their Bexar Burger, which was topped with chopped burnt ends (meat candy I believe they call it) every bite was mouthwatering. Also had a 1/4lb most brisket with bark and 1/4lb of the meat candy, wife had the brisket tacos…. can’t wait to go back!

Customer Service was great! The food had no taste. We went here because of the high recommendation we received from other people in the area but in no way would we ever come back here to eat. The food is pricy to have no taste, and my husband banana pudding was watery. We can now say we check this off the bucket list and hopefully this post help someone else out before they decide to eat at this location. Papa’s Barbecue & Rudy’s is better than the food we had! The potato salad please don’t even get you will be so sad lol

As good as their restaurant design and location is, it is the quality of their smoked meats and fantastic sides (and accompanying service) that is gonna keep people coming back again and again and again. I wanted to try a little bit of everything – but I can only eat so much in one sitting. So I guess I’ll just have to go back again and eat the rest of the menu (and then again and again and again). I’ve had their “Candied Ends” before at the farmers market, so I just got some of those to go — but FWIW, holy cow they are soooo good!!! On this first visit I ordered some moist brisket, sausage and pork ribs, with two sides – what they call “Casa Corn” (more about that in a minute) and their “Southern Slaw” coleslaw. Justin lives by a very important principle in everything he makes – if he doesn’t like it or he wouldn’t eat it, he won’t put it on the menu or serve it to his customers. So that guides his recipes and how he preps and cooks every cut of meat and every side that they serve. There is a great deal of love and detail that goes into everything they do.
