This was my first time coming to Bobby Q’s. I’ve been missing soul food in the area since Benny passed away. Bennys food was amazing and very flavorful and it’s hard to find that kind of taste anywhere. Bobby’s was delicious. The wait time was minimal. I would’ve sat down to eat but there was no AC on blowing strong enough and I didn’t want to eat my soul food in a hot place.

I placed an online order, but I had a frustrating experience with their website. I ended up overpaying for extra sides that were included but not initially offered due to a website error. The restaurant did call me to correct the order, but they didn’t allow me to cancel the extra sides, which was disappointing.

Once you get my order wrong, I’m done. I ordered the Fish & Shrimp combo dinner with two sides, which should’ve had 4 pieces of fish and 4 pieces of shrimp for $23.99. However, what I received was 3 pieces of fish and 3 shrimp. Honestly, I thought my last shrimp was under the fish, but when I went looking for it, it was not to be found, then I counted the fish, which were large pieces, but still only 3 of each.

It was my birthday and I wanted Soul Food, the food was delicious and the serving size was good. The Fried chicken was flavorful and juicy. The Fish fingers ( there version of chicken fingers) was delicious. The Mac and Cheese was creamy and delicious, the Collard greens was flavorful and enjoyable. The Red velvet cake was soft and moist, not dry like other areas. I wanted Soul Food and got what I wanted.

This was simply disappointing, saw the good reviews and decided to give it a try. Starting to think people in the area don’t have taste buds or just used to mediocrity. First off fries are stale, flavorless, not even a pinch of salt. Seems like you get these at the grocery store from the frozen aisle. The fish was just laughable. No flavor, not crispy and definitely not fresh. How does a “soul food” spot mess up sweet yams. Avoid this place, you’d be happier with a bagel and cream cheese. Avoid this place. To the owners do better.

I have NEVER EVER in my entire life had soul food this terrible. The owner should be ashamed and embarrassed to serve unseasoned food. There was NO SOUL in anything we ate. The mash potatoes taste like Straight out the box no taste, Mac and cheese had no cheese barely cooked, greens let’s not even talk about that, fried chicken was okay, bbq chicken horrible but the homemade ice tea was good. It took about an hour to receive this nasty food and I am very upset. Price is way to high to be serving this mess. The owner needs to really go in and tend to his business because this is unacceptable.
