Finally had a moment to dine in the restaurant. We’ve only ever done take-out.

In Sunnyvale on a business trip and we were looking for Lao food and there is really nothing here. Had to make the drive to Oakland to get our Lao food fix. It was worth getting stuck in traffic to come to this place.

Ordered the Ultimate Papaya Platter and it was perfect for three people. The Crispy Pork Belly was definitely a highlight. It was perfectly crispy when you take a bite. The ribs and chicken wings were also very good.

I’m Laotian, so I’m super picky when it comes to eating at Lao restaurants. It’s all about authenticity for me, and hands down, Bhan Mae Vane surpassed all expectations! The flavors and textures of every single dish was exceptional and the quality of the food is what you would find at a traditional Lao wedding or Ceremonial event. The bay area is so lucky to have this special place to eat authentic Laotian food. What a gem! I cannot wait to come back and eat!

3.5* rounding up to 4*. great portions size. service a bit slow but probably because the portions are so large! khao soy was just ok. the noodles in it were good tho.

I came here with my dad for a quick lunch. We tried to share an entree and 2 appetizers. The food was great, delicious, and plenty enough! Now we’ve got some tasty leftovers for dinner!

Really good food, nice space, service was only okay but the food definitely makes up for it. Favorite thing to eat was the Crunchy rice salad! It had crispy pork and you wrap the crispy pork salad into a lettuce wrap.

An unbelievably good South East Asian resultant, I almost don’t want to write this review because I don’t want it to get any more crowded than it already gets. Bahn Mae Vane’s food absolutely slaps, with the savory tapioca balls and the puffed rice dishes being standouts. There are Thai classics, and dishes that are Laotian sound on those Thai favorites. Go here, you won’t regret it!

I love this place. The food is always on point and the portions are huge. My favorite thing is and will always be the Nam khao which is a fried rice ball salad
