I have to go back for the fish sandwich whenever I am close. Unfortunately, some of the family is “gluten free,” therefore, on occasion I have been “forced” to eat Al’s gluten free pizza, although it was so good, I’d never know it! The family said it is the best g.f. pizza they’ve ever had. Everyone was very friendly, and I was sung to when I kept winning at their meat raffle that night. I was totally shocked to see the big room, which had the door closed the first time I was there. It is the neatest room, I can’t imagine the history it must hold. Al is a super guy. I go there any time I’m close, or even kind of!

We stopped for lunch with our kids, and it was an all around great experience. Matt was extremely attentive, and did an awesome job. The brisket and pulled pork were delicious, and the kids loved the burgers. It is so much better when the burgers are handmade rather than frozen and preformed! Will definitely be stopping again when we’re in the area!

This is a very cozy place with a great atmosphere. I went to see Dave Landau and got some food with the ticket. The chicken salads are perfect and I’ve heard the brisket is pretty good. The drinks are reasonably priced for a bar, and the staff are great. Not quite the cleanest or best organized place, but it didn’t get in the way of enjoying my time there.

Love the small-town bar feel here -normally I’d feel like at outsider, but not at Big Als. Their patrons even bring a happy and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are very kind and helpful. The food is GREAT! I recommend one of the wraps if you’re new and passing through. And the steak fries!

Good brisket pizza and sandwich. Chicken wings are smoked, super good, they know how to make true BBQ. Eat and drink here. Becoming a regular. Fish fry is better than most. Crispy outside and done right.

Brisket pizza is all you need to know! Wait, I take that back, it’s brisket pizza and the brisket hoagie! Wait, I take that back, it’s the brisket pizza… brisket hoagie… smoked chicken wings! Wait, oh hell, ores it all! Seems like the owner has hand picked the menu and cut through the piddly stuff and went right to the great stuff! DON’T EVER LEAVE WITHOUT TRYING THE DAMN CHEESECAKE!!!
