We went for the breakfast buffet. Its $12.99 per person and kids under 12 eat free. They had very good waffles and the biscuits and gravy were pretty good. Bacon and sausage were average. Tough to say about anything else due to the fact we got there at 130 and the buffet ends at 2 so some stuff wasn’t as fresh as other things. Overall clean restaurant, pretty small and theres no jungle to play games and putt putt anymore which is why I’m knocking this particular big boy down a star… sad sad sad. I would come here once a week to eat if the brought the jungle back! Instead its once a year maybe…

My husband and I stopped in the Petoskey Big Boy tonight and were very disappointed in the service. The place was not that busy but they only had 2 waitresses. We waited to be seated, while others were told to sit where they wanted. We chose to have the soup and salad bar to save on time. Hardly anything was marked.. 2 of the 4 soups had signs in them. My husband had to ask what the Jello was because it looked like a sauce. Once the waitress took our order and brought our water, she never returned to our table, not to ask how things were, or if wanted anything more, nor to take away dirty dishes or leave us a bill. While we were eating, a young lady brought up 3 empty glasses to the counter and asked for refills because obviously they weren’t being served well either. Whoever the manager of the place is, they should be in there helping out. Even if you are short on help you should still return to your table at least once to see how things are… We left no tip because we didn’t receive any service!! We will not return there nor recommend it!

My family went in for a late dinner. The food was good and met expectations. However, they got bonus points with us for service! My son has a number of food allergies; and as soon as our waitress knew it was a concern she went and got their reference book. After a few minutes looking things up, the manager came over and confirmed info on the items we were still looking for. It was wonderful to have our concerns addressed with such consideration!

Drink orders were prompt and correct. Staff appeared overworked and tired, but they were friendly. Sandwich was good but the onion rings were terrible. We stood waiting to be seated for about ten minutes even though there were empty tables. Overall, it’s not the worst place in Petoskey but I won’t be stopping in again if there are other choices open.

Food is decent. Servers are mediocre. Last time I was there the server failed to effectively communicate with us which resulted in not receiving the food we expected and the bill not being split properly. Took 15 min and 3 different people to fix the bill when we went to leave and pay.

We got seated really fast and she took our order pretty quickly. However the the order was missing the oatmeal and the fruit cup. She didn’t come around to top off our coffee. I think she was out on smoke break because all the other waitresses were on the floor for like 15 minutes.
