Loved the Ribs! Reviews put this on my to-do list which I checked off at ~5 cst on 4/13/15. I live in Knoxville, but travel west on I-40 occasionally & Big Boy’s is only 5 mi. off I-40 & well worth the drive! You order at the counter. After looking at what others were eating, I decided on the 1/2 rack of ribs w/ 2-sides (beans & potato salad), which was only $10.75. I didn’t want a soda or tea, so just had water (no beer, etc.). I chose the hot sauce, which was tomato-based & a nice thickness & a good combination of hot, sweet & tart. The ribs were HUGE. Perhaps the best I’ve ever had, they certainly were the meatiest! Very moist & tender, but not so much so that they just fell apart — perfect! I’m not a fan of Styrofoam, but it was convenient to have all ready to-go, as leftovers are a certainty; I had enough for 3! The sides were good — not too salty. The restaurant was clean & decorated with collections of old Kodak cameras & model planes, but the food was ready so fast, there was not much time for looking around. Judging from the other customers, the loaded potatoes are a local favorite. Their take-out business was good, too. Would be a good place to pick-up a picnic! It appeared that you can eat at a counter on the front porch when the weather is good. I will definitely come back! (Posting photos of menu, restaurant & food)

BBQ is excellent. Service is friendly, quick and the loaded potato is mm mm good. The beans are really good also. The price is right. Stop by whenever I’m in the town. P.S. 10am open time is not soon enough. Lol. Love the Coca Cola and other memorabilia!

Ate here once on a recent trip to Tennessee, which led to a return trip a few days later. Food was amazing, staff friendly, and reasonably priced menu. They serve brisket once a week, which I am still craving! The sauce was so good (more of a vinegar-base as opposed to the sugar-based sauce we’re used to back in Baltimore – a win-win for my diabetic Husband) that we bought some to take back to MD. Two thumbs up !

Get the stuffed baked potato if you can only try one thing! It’s huge and loaded with all of the goodies including your choice of delicious meat. I went to as many barbecue places as I could find while on vacation in TN. Big Boy’s is the one I kept coming back to so I could sample their entire menu. They’ve done things right by keeping their menu a little smaller and focusing on making sure that what is on their menu is totally awesome. For instance baked beans, potato salad, and coleslaw are the only sides but I tried all of them and they’re absolutely delicious. I also tried the ribs which fall of the bone as you’d expect. Next time I go to TN on vacation I’ll make plans to be in Crossville on a Wednesday so I can try the brisket!

Not the best bar b que in the world, but I would say some of the best people in the world. Very friendly and inviting, the staff knows how to make people feel comfortable. The dining area has some VERY cool and very old, photography, air plane, and car memorabilia.

Food is fabulous, and the owner and staff are even more fabulous! They catered my wedding several years ago and were absolutely THE BEST, sweetest, easiest people to work with! Thank you so much!

The food was ready quickly and tasted the delicious. My only complaint is that the chicken half was a little dry. Would recommend this place and plan on coming back.

Great Q reasonable price plate. Staff is usually friendly. The Ribs run out early so don’t be too late.

The potatoes may be famous but the ribs were not good at all. The good thing is I think we can fix them when we get home.
