We were excited to try Big City Pizza during pizza week because they had some unique offerings. It was a dine in experience. Both the friendliness of staff and speed of service was lacking. There were four tables in the restaurant and all other tables had their food. However, we had to wait almost 30 minutes to get our pizzas. I understand there was likely to go orders, but 30 minutes seemed excessive. The pizza themselves were very flavorful but the Pig Newton picture on the Pizza Week had significantly more meat that the pizza we received.

Took them over 30 minutes to make a medium pizza. It wasn’t busy, about 4 other people in there besides me. It was supposed to be dine in but they gave it to me in a box instead. It was unevenly cut, most pieces smaller than the other. Will not be returning to this terrible business with plastic tasting pizza.

I’m actually from Chicago Illinois ( Logan square), believe me when I tell you I know delicious pizza! I recently moved here to Lexington and tried this “Big City Pizza”. Long story short, it’s garbage. It took over 30mins to make our pizza! The sauce sucked, there was little no enjoyable flavor notes and the crust was really thin. The restrooms were dirty, lack of soap, towels and messy. Service was slow and the employees seemed to be bored.

I ordered the 14 inch Hudson and my wife got a 12 inch Pepperoni and Basil pizza. We also got an order of the cheese sticks. First bite I immediately tasted the sauce, which wasn’t like a lot of the other places, it’s a sweet sauce. Then the toppings and cheese. We came here on a whim but I FOR SURE will be coming back. It was all delicious

Ordered here while in town as we like to try regional/local pizza places. Online ordering easy and service good at pickup. Quality was ok. It was definitely edible but I wouldn’t consider it good. Biggest qualm is that crust is far too doughy and soft, almost undercooked. This was on the “new york style” option. New York style should be crisp, thin, with big slices that you can fold over on itself while eating. It should have significant bite and pull. This was not that style whatsoever. Other big qualm was lack of a white pizza option – usually an olive oil or butter and garlic based sauce. Here the only options were ricotta or alfredo sauce, neither of which were very tasty. Place has potential but needs to make some adjustments to their recipes and preparation.
