This is a really good BBQ place. The food is excellent. There are many options, so just about everyone can find something to enjoy. If you dine in, there are free beans. That is a nice touch. You must try a fried pie! Passing on the fried pies is a huge mistake. The portion sizes are good, and the prices are reasonable. This is a must try restaurant.

I hate to give a lower rating because big Jakes is my usual go to for BBQ in Texarkana area. I was coming to Ashdown for a meeting and bible study so we needed two quick to go plates, I just got 3meat no sides and daughter got a sandwich and beans. There was only one man in front of me in line, and maby 4 tables with people. I understand most places are understaffed nowadays so I’m used to longer waits.
