A great local eatery with good food, the staff is pleasant an seem happy to serve you. Location is off the beaten path which is nice but this place could do so much more in a higher traffic location. Hope they never move from here though its a great diner for the side of Calhoun Gordon County it’s on that has much less selection as anywhere else. Big John’s offers a wide variety of meals for anytime and anyone who is hungry, a real treat.

I ordered the smoked chicken plate today and it was absolutely the worst food I have ever eaten. The chicken was tiny chopped up pieces of chicken that amounted to about maybe 4oz of meat and it was so dried out it was crunchy. Half of it you couldn’t even try to eat because it was so hard. The roll was hard all the way through and dried out. The 2 sides were okay. The waitress never asked if I need a refill or anything. I want be back.

Big John’s offers daily specials with meat and two sides and generally a choice between two or three cobblers or other deserts at an added fee. They also have their normal menu to choose from. We’ve been several times. Food quality, at times, lacks consistency. Overall, there are no major complaints, though, and it is in a very convenient location.
