I’ve been hearing about this place, and decided to give it a try. I got the two meat plate with spareribs and brisket. I also got the garlic mashed potatoes and baked beans as sides. The meat was delicious, and the sides were delicious as well! This proves Louisiana does have some pretty good bbq spots!!

The smoked meats are phenomenal. That said, the last 3 times we have visited, the service has been lacking. Today my husband and I came by at around 2. It was busy. His food was delivered to the table. One of our boudin was delivered about 10 minutes after his meal. My meal came about 15 minutes after my husbands and the other boudin came after we finished, so we took it home. My husbands rib sandwich was 3 ribs he had to take the meat off of to put between two slices of bread. If it wasn’t for having to make his own sandwich, he would have been completely finished with his meal before mine even came. The 2 visits prior to that they were out of wings which it why we drove 45 minutes to get there. The wings are amazing. We ordered our next favorite and the same delivery of the food as today. Thought it was a fluke. You go out to eat not to watch the other eat and then have them watch you when your meal shows up15-20 minutes after the first. That same visit we had to ask for our dessert and it was placed on the table in a package straight out of the refrigerator. Good food is everywhere in Louisiana so service is important.

Loved this place! Grill was down, but still numerous choices. Had the Houma catfish sandwich with sweet potato waffle fries. Ssooo good! Our bartender, Rain was super sweet and made an excellent mule and old fashion. Will definitely be back!

Big Mikes was one of my favorite go to local BBQ spots. I noticed after the Covid-19 pandemic hit, there was a change in the portion sizes; they were smaller. I didn’t mind this change in quantity, as the quality was still great. But now both the quantity and quality are suffering. I had the pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries. The pulled pork was dry, almost flavorless, and felt like mop fibers. I wasn’t satisfied at all, and this hasn’t been the only time that I noticed the decline in quality. I understand that the economy is still recuperating, and some things had to be sacrificed in order to remain afloat, but I hope that the quality and ingredients will be restored back to its norm so I can continue to enjoy! The chicken wings were still delicious at least.

We ordered through Door Dash. Everything we ordered was delicious!! The Boss hog nachos were huge and very good!! Got the Three meat combo with brisket, chicken and turkey. All were great and the portions were generous! We also ordered the half bird which was very good and juicy! My brother got the Gulf shrimp salad, and he enjoyed it very much!! We got garlic mashed potatoes, baked beans, roasted green beans, coleslaw and jambalaya for sides. All were great!! And our order was correct and nothing was missing!! That doesn’t always happen with Door Dash! And our delivery person, Jessica, was very friendly and quick!! Thank you for the great meal!!!

This was my first time here. We are from New Orleans and wanted a great place to eat. This place definitely exceeded our expectations. Our server, Hannah, made it a great experience . Highly recommend the corn and shrimp soup, even when it’s hot out. We took 2 bowls of it home. A must eat at in Denham Springs.

I’ve been to Big Mike’s a few times over the past few years and the food is always good. The service is not so good and I just picked up an online order, prepaid, and it took around 15 minutes. This was mostly due to lack of clear sineage inside. I had to ask twice before I could get my order.
