My food was horrible, it seem like the fries were refried from the day before and so were the egg rolls. The egg rolls taste freezer burnt on one end, which prompt me to call, but no asnswer! I would not recommend waisting your money like I just did

I wish I could give this more than 5 stars. My fiancé and I drove an hour up from Kalamazoo and it was 100% worth it. I honestly don’t even know where to begin. You get so much steak in your Philly and it’s such amazing quality! No fatty pieces, very tender and seasoned well. Mushrooms, onions and peppers were fresh. My fiancé got banana peppers on his and loved it! He said it was honestly the best Philly he’s ever had. The chicken and steak egg rolls are to die for! So crispy and the sweet chili dipping was perfect with the chicken egg roll. We got Buffalo sauce too and that was fantastic! We got seasoning salt on our fries which was a great call on my fiancés behalf. I ordered a small mot stick and they were great too. He also got the steak hot Cheeto egg roll which he said was amazing. We will definitely be returning!

Shawn, my guy, your Google photos/videos look amazing. I went here last night at 9 and it was closed, despite google, your website, and your door saying you were open till 10. No biggie. I went again today for lunch at 1230 and the female working rolled her eyes when i walked in. There was a gentlemen ahead of us who ordered 2 cheesesteaks and the gal slapped his order on a cold skillet. Really disappointed on the general atmosphere and the “vibe”. So much so that I walked out. I was genuinely looking forward to slamming down my “big shawn cheesesteak” but I honestly didn’t want to eat after the depressing demeanor. I hope this doesn’t come off as condescending, but dang man I have been having dreams about how good your food looks. I hope this was just a hiccup in service and wish you all the best. Love you bud. I have been here a great handful of times. The first two times were sooo delicious… that’s when they opened the business… now you should literally cross your fingers and hope for the best. The customer service is not the best and neither is the food. Some times I would go just to get the egg rolls. The thing with the egg rolls as well as the steak cheesesteak is Inconsistency. Some times the grease was bad and you can taste it in the egg rolls. There have been a NUMBER of employees in and out of there. Some time I would come, and the meat was completely underseasoned. Here recently, the meat tasted like it was freezer burnt. You know like the last you should use this first type of meat that’s what it tasted like. It was completely again underseasoned (cheesesteak) I had one of my children, taste it, and we were very very underwhelmed. It was nasty. I took one bite through the whole thing in the garbage. I have given this place the last dollars I can… sorry I tried… even waited in line 2 times for over 2hours and one time even in the rain. So before anyone says I’m hating NO I’m not, I’ve spent money in that business over 10 times TRYING to show support… I’ve just had enough. THIS AINT IT… that was DEFINITELY my last time.

Big Shawn’s is definitely a staple in grand rapids in my opinion if it isn’t it should be! I feel like I actually went to Philadelphia for a cheesesteak when I come here..lol cause when I say everything I oder from this establishment is I mean it always taste the same or better every time I return! My favorite is the egg rolls I can eat them everyday but unfortunately I live out of town but I often have a taste for big Shawn’s & will drive a hr or so just to get some it’s very addictive & worth the travel. I haven’t been to a place that can match they’re flavor & make there menu item’s the way they do. They also support small businesses I was able to leave flyers for @superbshoecleaners my shoe cleaning & restoration company so again it’s a win win for me when I come. The customer service is excellent & they’re pretty fast when it comes to getting orders complete as well as making sure everything is correct! Big Shawn’s started showing up on my instagram about two years ago. I live 3 hours away from the nearest location. I said that if I was in the area I was going to make sure to try it. I showed up 35 minutes before they closed. I was expecting to have a not so happy employee with me. It was the total opposite of that. The staff was really nice and polite. The stake egg rolls were fire. The cheesesteak was also really good. Would definitely stop in again the next time I’m in the area.
