The historic building was the Acme Hotel in the early part of the 1900s, said to be the oldest tavern on LBI. Bird and Betty Clutter purchased it in 1956 and ran a successful bar. Bird remembers a secret trap door where alcohol was moved in during the Prohibition era. According to local historian, John Lloyd, in the 60s and 70s, it attracted an energized crowd who came for the excitement of LBI nights and live music. Bird and Betty’s at 529 Dock Rd. in Beach Haven is a casual spot with the same fresh seafood and crafted cocktails the Tide Table group is known for with the addition of specialty pizza. It is also Beach Haven’s newest premiere music venue.

Worst restaurant experience I have had in my life. Stopped here with my family and was truly disappointed. The waitress was scowling at us and was very unfriendly. We were served raw and smelly branzino. You must look at the photos. The pizzas are definitely made with canned sauce and the water tasted like dishwater. The fried chicken sandwich was unpleasant to eat. The fried layer was incredibly thick and greasy. Worst menu options I’ve seen so far. Maybe they should stick to being just a bar. I won’t be coming back. At least the mozzarella was good

Love the vibe of this place. We went for lunch, bet the sunset time and night party would be awesome. A spacious location with lovely patio setup, ground floor is cute. Love the oysters and drinks. Sandwiches are yummy with freshly baked soft bread but relatively less quantity for the price they charge. Came around 120$ for 2.

Lively place with good, prompt service. Our food came out fast and was very tasty. Parking was a little difficult but that’s pretty common for possible places like this. They accommodated a large party of 19 which was nice too.

Great food. But if you’re eating inside it’s so humid and loud. Service is meh and the bar is swarming with fresh 21 year olds making the dining experience not enjoyable. Plus there’s a band downstairs and a DJ upstairs.

I am posting this in the hopes that Bird and Betty’s considers this constructive feedback and improves upon the experience for their patrons. The music was so loud on the second floor tonight that you could hardly hear anyone speak, and I let the people at the podium know it was too loud to talk, and they agreed… but nothing changed. Also, I understand the 70s vibe, but we are paying a lot for drinks and food, please renovate your bathrooms, and give us an updated, clean, more appropriate 70s vibe bathroom experience that we deserve. This is more like a port o potty experience – no water pressure. You can do better, the view is beautiful, we enjoy this place, but it needs to get better if you want to keep attracting individuals who will respect the property and continue to appropriately appreciate your staff. We aren’t seasonal people.

Atmosphere outside was good and so was service. I ordered a Dark n Stormy cocktail and it was more like a mocktail. Clam pizza was $21 (expensive), canned clams and swimming in oil. I forced myself to finish it because it cost so much. Raw oysters were good and so were the fish sandwiches. Go for the views not the food.

Finally got to see Mike Pinto live and the bumpin uglies last night and got both set lists a pic and some autographs, we all had a great time we even stayed down in Beach haven instead of driving back home late very nice atmosphere and clean
