Quality food from the new Bird on the Run location in Penn Hills. I think this is where the BBQ spot once was (or maybe it was a car wash, I don’t remember). Bit hard to spot, but worth giving them a try. I ordered the fish nuggets and beignets.

Our first time trying Bird on the Run, looking for somewhere new. Employees were very polite and friendly. They give you alot of food for the price and it was delicious. The Bird sauce was different but good. I would definitely return!

Both my chicken sandwich and chicken nuggets were a good bit over cooked and almost completely dry, yet a few of the fries managed to be under cooked. Not entirely sure how or if it was a bad visit, which seems unlikely as they weren’t busy even in the slightest. Might be willing to give them a second try but unlikely given how dry the chicken was.

Had the 5 piece tenders #3 on the heat. Pretty good. I will go back and get nuggets next time and then the chicken sandwich!! Skip the beignets as they are just a frozen block of some kind of fried dough covered in powder sugar and tasted like they were fried in with the same oil as the fish. I will be making a return trip for the chicken!

I was super excited to have a new chicken place to try. The first time we had it, it was ok, a little pricey but ok. The next two times we had it, it was flavorless and soaked in grease. The buns were soaked with grease, and my bag of nuggets had a puddle of grease at the bottom. I am not a chronic complainer, and i give all places a couple chances before i complain. If you could make sure the chicken is seasoned properly, and drained a little longer, this place may have potential.

The food here is amazing. Went for the first time last week. The chicken nuggets were amazing! Great flavor and HUGE! Real chicken! My son had the sandwich. It also was huge and very good. My daughter got the tenders. Again, very good!

Had high hopes when I placed a takeout order this evening, but the excess grease situation is almost disgusting. The sandwiches were soggy and bland, but the nuggets POURED fishy smelling fry grease everywhere the second I picked them from the bag. Everyone has an off day, but our meal this evening was inedible. Big let down.

So glad to have a really good chicken place in the penn hills area! I like that there are multiple levels for spiciness instead of either nothing or super hot. And there is just a hint of sweetness in whatever they put on it, which I really like. As others have said, it almost seems like it needs a little salt though. But I’d much prefer it not salty enough than too salty, since I can always add salt on my own. The fries are also really tasty and a nice size portion. Employees also seem very nice.

Stars are mainly for the customer service. Staff are friendly and fast. But the chicken isn’t good. I ordered 3 strips and they were so thin and flavorless, really wasn’t worth the $6. The chicken was juicy so kudos for that, but the meat itself didn’t taste like it had been seasoned. And was there even salt on the outside seasoning? All I tasted was pepper and smokiness. This is a pass for me.

Fantastic flavor in the chicken sandwich. #3 spice level is my go to and the waffle fries are crisp and tasty not soggy like at Chik Fil-A. The staff are extremely pleasant as well. It is a bit on the pricy side; roughly $10 just for a plain chicken sandwich, but I’d have to say it’s worth it. Blows away Popeyes, KFC, or Chik Fil-A. It’s located at an old car wash which is interesting. Give this place a try.
