My wife and I stumbled across Bistro 44 yesterday when we were in Douglas looking for some lunch. Instantly we loved the place. It was clean and beautiful. The two ladies who chatted with us made us feel right at home and the food was awesome. I had the tomato sandwich after the waitress told me about its history in the family, and loved it so much I’m making one for myself tonight for dinner! Fries are amazing too. Definitely would visit again if we ever go back that way!

Just had breakfast here this morning. The food was excellent, the atmosphere is great, and the owner is friendly, and attentive to the customers! We will be back for sure in the very near future! The Monte Cristo breakfast sandwich was great as was the chirizo scramble. Can’t wait to try their lunch menu soon!

We just had lunch at Bistro 44 and it was very good! The burger had a ton of flavor and the buns were amazing. The fries were some of the best we’ve had and the bistro sauce was delicious. Highly recommend if you are looking for a nice place to grab some lunch!

Had breakfast here. I don’t normally like pancakes but these were delicious I have also had lunch and dinner here and everything is fantastic. I can happily say I found my new favorite place. Service is outstanding and very respectful

This place is wonderful! We stopped in for breakfast and were really impressed. The pancakes were huge and delicious, the hash brown omelette was totally unique and the Migas special was incredible (soo good we told them to add it to the menu permanently). The owner was also super nice.

This place was a hot MESS. The only thing my mom and I liked was the jalapeño caps. On the menu it says the cheese sauce comes with it but then we had to ask for it after the caps were brought out. We ordered the street tacos WHICH were not street tacos AT ALL, the meat was SUPER salty, even the burger I ordered was totally salty. I asked for pickle, lettuce, and onions. The waiter brought out a burger on a bun with cheese and LOADED it with their weird sauce and onion rings. We are very disappointed!

We were excited for a new breakfast place in the area but our joy was quickly dashed. It started with our server not taking our order and helping parties that were seated after us to waiting over 45 minutes for breakfast. When the man who we believe was the owner came out he was apologetic but did nothing when told my breakfast was wrong. Another woman came out and began making excuses for a “packed” restaurant. There was 1 table of 6 waiting for their food before we sat down. She proceeded to give us an attitude and acting like we were lying. She did comp our meal but that’s because it was so bad and we were upset with the treatment that we didn’t eat it and left after almost an hour and a half at the restaurant. All we ordered were pancakes and breakfast tacos with crumbled sausage. The pancakes were crispy but very sour. The breakfast tacos looked unappetizing. The shells were not toasted and they had chorizo in them instead, which I do not like normally. Also was supposed to come with sour cream and the server asked “if I ordered it”. The side of pico for $2.50 was NOT worth it. We tried very hard to be patient but the excuses and the rudeness of the woman who worked there is unacceptable. Do not visit Bistro 44 unless you want a substandard meal and want to waste over an hour for it.
