Wonderful location for a family gathering. Private rooms are available with dedicated staff. Delicious appetizers, scrumptious entrees and amazing desserts. Great bar drinks (the Bloody Marys are terrific). Great staff, good food and reasonable prices. Give Bistro 72 a try.

We had Sunday brunch with the family and tried the following small plate/appetizers: Deviled Eggs (with a spicy kick), Crab Cakes, Tuna Tartar, Calamari and Twisted Pretel, all of which were good. The burger and fries portions were generous and well cooked. I tried the Buttermilk Chicken Sandwich which was tasty. I liked the different take on the coleslaw with fresh peppers. The French Toast was nothing special but it came with a lots of beautiful blackberries.

I was at Bistro 72 with a relatively large party. Our server was Wayne, who welcomed us warmly, and was very attentive to our experience, answering all our questions diligently demonstrating his knowledge of their menu items and preparation! The food was delicious with generous portions, and Wayne gave us great suggestions to pair with our meals as well, along with suggesting the amazing coppa desert!

Came here when looking for a place to eat lunch while in Riverhead. It looked very fancy and the menu looked great. When we arrived, e we realized it was the bar/ restaurant in Hotel Indigo. Food was good but the atmosphere was hotel bar feeling. Best thing we ate was the crab cake as an appetizer.

Always the best of the best, great food, great people….the chef must be of Michelin star quality because the food is phenomenal. I recommend everything on the menu but a great mood lifter is definitely the chicken sandwich. The bartender’s are great I can’t think of one negative factor

UPDATE: Giving the Bistro 72 a couple of added stars. After leaving my initial review, the management contacted me to chat. Cristen was very professional as we talked about my experience. She also informed me that they are looking to update the establishment within the year. The menu is also updated seasonally. Looks like I’ll have to give the Bistro a 2nd chance! Come during the live music Thursday-Saturday. OLDER POST: This place is tired and dated. Food needs more flavor and freshness. Live music was a plus as they were talented. Service was very good. Decor was weathered and old.

Excellent food and great atmosphere. Perfect for a large crowd or more intimate evenings. Our group of 14 was directed to a large square table that worked great for us. Food was on the pricier side so be mindful of that.
