In Stockton NJ for the weekend and just ate at the Bistro Rouget. I was able to make last minute reservations without any problems. When we arrived the hostess was extremely friendly and attentive. From what I gather they serve an a-la-carte menu on Fridays. My wife had a French onion soup which was incredible!!!! The ingredients were top notch and despite being satisfied with a Leek Cheesecake i was a bite dissapointed that i didnt order the French onion soup. We both ordered the NY Strip steak with Pomme Frites. Such a huge portion and we really enjoyed the fresh pepper taste!! For desert we ordered a slice of a cake….portion for at least 2 people. I could have done without the desert but overall was a great start to a weekend getaway. A few things of note: we dont drink but if you do BYOB. Also CASH ONLY so please prepare for that.

Everything was perfect. The food was out of this world. Everything I ordered was fabulous and I wouldn’t hesitate to order again. And again. And again. I shared with my friends and everything they ordered was wonderful too. The staff was beyond friendly and courteous. Going out of their way to accommodate all of us. Great atmosphere. Casual, friendly. Had a wonderful evening. Thank you to all. It was a perfect Birthday evening. And thank you for the straw!

Fantastic little find in Stockton, NJ. Food was all exceptional. Only one server so she was a little harried but we weren’t in a rush and it was fine. Will definitely return. Two things you need to know: BYOB but liqour/wine store literally across the street and no credit cards accepted, so be prepared with cash.

What an amazing loal French Bistro experience! Outdoor seating is comfortable and safe according to the COVID-19 guidelines. Lovely customer service! Food preparation is delectable with an explosive adventure of fine fresh flavors worth the effort to make reservations for. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Lovely spot in the little town of Stockton. Everything was excellent: food, service, people, atmosphere. It was a Saturday night and they encouraged us to sit and stay as long as we’d like. A very special place, I’d highly recommend.

The shrimp was absolutely incredible, and the hostess was extremely kind. I couldn’t think anything that was wrong, and a jazz group happened to be playing at the restaurant for a birthday party, but it really made a great mood. The hostess was extremely kind, and everything was just great.

Lovely small French restaurant in the town of Stockton across the street from the historic “small hotel with a wishing well.” The small hotel is closed but Bistro Rouget thrives with its cozy interior seating and outdoor tables. We shared steamed mussels, escargot, chicken bordelaise, and other delights. We resolved to return to explore the rest. Service was excellent.

Stumbled upon this by accident. Went to the Stockton market for the Friday night special event but they only had minimal food available & we were still hungry. Waitress was kinda and set us up outside. We enjoyed a few items to share.

Good food but limited menu. No side salad offered with rather pricey entrees. Also, it was unseasonably cold that night and the restaurant was chilly despite having many diners. Lastly there is no sound insulation so it was noisy.
