In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. Today, we continue their mission at every Black Bear Diner across the country, as we passionately provide guests an outstanding experience. Fantastic place to enjoy breakfast and lunch! We were greeted by our friendly waitresses, Raj, when we walked in. She accommodated our group of 6 and provided exceptional customer service! She was very knowledgeable about the menu and helped us with suggestions. The food was cooked perfectly and tasted great. They even have a little area by the register with gifts and souvenirs. Ordered food again 3 weeks after this review. The quality was not nearly as good. The portions were smaller the potatoes were almost raw, disappointing I hoped they maintained the quality and consistency of their food. I hope this was an isolated incident. I will probably try one more order. I ordered breakfast. The food was delivered quickly packaged great and the food was as good as any we have had for breakfast. I recommend this restaurant highly.
